It is a relatively new program (don't how new) but raised $133,000 from 616 donors, and the amount was greater than last year (source did not say how much more). Small amount compared to the April giving day which raised over two million.

I know of two people who donated and wrote a note that it was for buying out Montgomery and money to reverse the rebrand.

Even though the donation isn't going in that direction it’s funny.

Quote:“I think if you go back, the campus had five or six different colors, you had different W’s, you had different horses, different broncos and if you actually went to a bowl game you couldn’t tell what sideline was ours,” Montgomery said.

Really? I've never had a problem figuring which sideline was ours. And, yes, we've had multiple different designs because we dealt with so many rebrands. I think Dunn's rebrand addressed many of the issues. Yet, here we are AGAIN!!!

Way to say something without really saying anything, Montgomery. Spoken like a politician.

Yeah, THAT was ridiculous. Of course we could tell which sideline was ours. What a joke.

It's like Judy Bailey all over again!

Except while the no confidence vote is currently happening the Board of Trustees are expected to approve a pay increase and 75k bonus for Montgomery this Thursday.

It looks like currently there is only one out of the 7 who is not.

RE: End of an era
That’s my fault - I might be a few years removed on BoT. I don’t like the gov appointing them - which is why I said we vote on them. Maybe that’s fine but do govorners actually know who’s best for us? Most of them are wealthy successful business people… do they actually love WMU?

It’s hard to watch our university right now. The senior administration and Trustees seem to think everything is fine while the rest of the university and alumni base is in upheaval. This won’t end well.

I agree. I don't like gov appointing them (b/c how does gov know what's in best interest of the school?) nor voters voting on them. But I don't know the appointment process. Does the school / current board make recommendations (that 99 times out of 100 the governor approves)? If someone wanted to be on the board, what do they have to do? Does president have any say?

I personally like them being appointed. When they show up on a ballot from a school you have no relationship towards and aren’t even that physically close to you end up just picking names or selecting your political party on the ballot.

This is fair. There has to be a better way but not sure what it would be

I always vote for the most obscure, radical candidate for the other boards. Why? Because, F*#& those schools.

Absolutely ridiculous. It's approaching full-blown corruption at this point.

Students, faculty, and staff are all fed up with WMU admin, and Montgomery gets a raise. Yeah, the guy everyone hates, making $500k a year, deserves a raise. BoT either doesn't care, is completely incompetent, or is corrupt. No other options.

Faculty and staff have been fighting for funding and compensation, fighting for scraps. They get nothing. President gets a raise.

BoT and Montgomery are nuking our university. I can't believe this.
