A nice Senior Day win with many contributing. 8-4 exceeded expectations for most and only a play away from the conference championship game. Now to get a decent bowl and get a win in a bowl for a change. One more trophy.

I'd love to know what McElwain was sore about toward the end but some things are better left unknown.

His post game handshake with Creighton wasn’t particularly friendly. But it wasn’t confrontational either.

I don’t know, I’m just guessing, but some of the “injuries” on EMU’s Defense at times when CMU’s offense was starting to roll or EMU had substitution issues on D.

Seemed he was a little bit irritated at times about it. But to be fair, both teams seemed to have injuries. The turf was either frozen or just plain slippery as there were a few times where players just flat lost their footing and fell down.

Congrats to you guys. You were the better team Your LT, D-line and RB are beasts. I'm embarrassed by the garbage fake injuries our defense had. Not fun to watch. I love Creighton but he has to fix that. I don't blame McElwain for an icy handshake there for that.

I think he was also upset with play call on 4th and 2 where we failed. It was a dumb-ass call. Too much Lew. You could see he was tired. Also, let's not blame the field goal team in it's entirety against NIU. The defense has to equally share blame for giving up a 17-point lead! I give that unit a "D" for the year, and Akey is to blame!

Thanks for your candidness, Steve.

Our D has earned its share of criticism this season, but I'll say this: the entire unit stepped up its play following the NIU game. Holding BSU to 17 and EMU to 10 was a great way to end the season. I particularly enjoyed the way we got after the EMU QB yesterday. The sack on EMU's first play from scrimmage set the tone.

With the help of the EMU QB holding on to the ball too long. You have to have a four second clock in your head to get rid of the ball!

True, but some of those were also coverage sacks. Our young CBs are showing signs of improvement. Although I still wouldn't be surprised to see us go into the transfer portal after another CB. We're still thin back there.

I'll add that this is why I like Richardson starting over Sirmon right now. Watching EMU's Bryant reminded me of Sirmon quite a bit. The difference is that Sirmon is younger and could still grow into the job.
