We can't run up the middle smash mouth style when the defense is set.

OL looks awful! We're going to finish 7-5! OOC schedule made this possible!

I’m sorry. Creighton sucks.

The talent gap between us, CMU, and even Toledo/WMU is miles and miles and miles.

His offensive coordinating is worse than his recruiting.

We' are an average MAC team.

I just summed the season up in one sentence.

Is this satire?

EMU was purposely faking injuries by suddenly collapsing when CMU got a big play. Even the announcers made several comments. Come on now.

RE: Game Day @CMU (Black Friday)
There were 2 calls at the start of the 2nd half which were critical. One, not calling holding on the kickoff return and then on the next (?) EMU play.

One takes 7 off the board and the other stops a possible EMU drive.

I'm a huge EMU fan and I sadly agree with this. It's a bush league, garbage way of playing football. Defensive coach Neathery and Creighton are both to blame for that. They have been doing it for a few games but this one was outrageous.

The guys who were doing this should be ashamed. That's not football. Neathery is a joke.

Is it still 2020? We BEAT Toledo and WMU, remember? WMU three years in a row.

Very lucky in both. Outgained in both. Should have lost both, if you look at probability quotients.

RE: Game Day @CMU (Black Friday)
Dear Friends,
I agree with why is Bryant still starting? If, Central's pass defense was so bad, why couldn't we throw downfield? Why didn't we blitz their quarterback? Especially when he was inaccurate throwing the ball early in the game.
If, we need four yards to get a first down, why are the receivers only running a three yard route?
I could go on, but what's the use.

Agree with sooooo many things said! Our recruiting is quite obviously not at an elite MAC level! CC is a very average coach as well! The only reason we're not 6-6 is because the OOC schedule! Hopefully, we win the bowl game! This game showed the enormous difference in coaching, and C Mich simply having much better talent! We're currently 10th in the MAC in recruiting for 2022! We better hit the JUCO, Transfer ranks hard for DT, DL, LB...........Listen 7-5 isn't the end of the world, but the way we lost today, and the obvious faking injuries was a complete embarrassment!

I agree. We got really hurt at RG. We went 3 deep there.

Lot of OL coaches in recent years. That hurts.

RE: Game Day @CMU (Black Friday)
One adjustment I've mentioned before that I'd like to see Creighton make is giving up play calling to a new OC. Today's playing calling, especially on 3rd and 4th downs were awful. I think we had at least two 4th down calls were we threw passes short of the sticks. That could have been on the WR or Bryant, but either way that falls back on coaching. The other issue was just coming out with a lot of bad energy in a game against a rival with a shot to win the Michigan MAC...very disappointing.

The offense has really fallen apart since the Toledo game. All year (outside of Wisconsin) we were able to move the ball and put up points, and then after Toledo there seems to be no rhythm. It's somewhat odd because all of the sudden we've been able to run the ball a bit better and now the passing game is gone. Bryant.....is not my favorite QB of the Creighton era. I know the line struggled today, but I feel like half the sacks today (and throughout the season) were on him. His pocket awareness seems to be a real issue, he holds the ball too long and doesn't seem to feel pressure. He is certainly talented, and I won't mind if he is still the starter next year, but I'll be interested to see if a healthy off-season and development for Hutchinson, and Smith and May with another year, if one of them can beat him out next year. I'm surprised that it seems like Smith is a head of May given that Smith is a true-freshmen.

I think you have to tip your hat to the defense. We were all pretty down on them and these last two weeks they really stepped up! Last week against WMU they played well and today against an offense that had really been rolling I thought they did a nice job of slowing them down. CMU did score 31, but one was on the kick return and then the last touchdown was kind of a "this game is over" thing. I thought they gave us a shot to win today, after CMU came up empty on their first two drives it was really a killer that we weren't able to score and take an early lead. I know Nichols had a bunch of yards, but he also had a bunch of carries and for being the nations leading rusher I didn't feel like he was just having his way with us. I think he was only averaging about 4 yards a carry.

Hopefully the defense can keep that momentum going and the offense can figure themselves out over the next few weeks and we can pick up that elusive bowl win.
