Is this satire?

EMU was purposely faking injuries by suddenly collapsing when CMU got a big play. Even the announcers made several comments. Come on now.

i cant hear you - someone is holding me ears shut

it seems like just yesterday everyone was outraged that neathery was still coaching. defense has some good games and now CC is the problem.

that being said our offensive line play this year has been iffy at best. That needs to get sorted our ASAP.

The faking of the injuries was the most B.S. thing I've ever seen under Creighton. Creighton and the defensive staff and players were definitely being Different with that garbage I love CC but that was the lamest thing I've ever seen. Isn't there a sign in the locker room about playing anyone, anywhere, even in a parking lot???? Real tough talk with weak players faking injuries. Not only are the defensive players we have bad (only play good when they are pissed, check the game tape) but they are coached to fake injuries when the opponent makes a play. If CC didn't like it, he has the ability to call.an end to it and he was afraid to. That's a big reason McElwain was icy with that handshake and I don't blame him. Not only is that a t bad look for Neathery, it's a bad look for garnering respect. I watch and attend a lot of football and no one does that. So, CC is practicing what they preach....They are Being Different.

Congrats to Central Michigan, they are clearly the better team. There was no scoring fraud, the game wasn't rigged. Sometimes you have to tip your cap and be a good sport. Very nice season for the program. A bowl win is what the program needs now.

E Tough needs,to be better achieved by both the defensive and offensive lines. Right know it's E Manhandled. That CMU games was the biggest disappointment of the season. We did not compete for all four, quarters.

Dear steve4840,
I think you are making a mountain out of a mole hill with your continued stating of the so called fake injuries.
I have also watched many football games, and have watched many players get up take a step or two, and go back down to the ground. Were they faking an injury? What about the half dozen or more of the Central players that claimed injury. Were any of those faked? Even if the Eastern players were faking injuries, how do you know that this was a conceived plan of Coach Creighton?
It's also funny of your take of the handshake. I looked at it like Creighton was upset at the Central coach. In any case, since when does a handshake at the end of a game have to be like a warm embrace?

I agree, Ken. Were some of those guys faking? Maybe, but it is quite hard to say or prove someone is faking an injury, especially when they are in the middle of playing a rather violent game. I think, as we get more and more precautious and aware of injuries, players are instructed to go down if they feel something is wrong. As you point out, CMU also had quite a few injuries. Also, it isn't like CMU runs some up-tempo offense, they can certainly high powered, but I don't see them as a team you need try and slow down.

I don’t mean any disrespect to anyone on here but truthfully my avid EMU friends that attend the games suspected the same thing.

Ken,
Even the announcers were laughing at the fake injuries. Tell me when you've seen that? Several times we had guys finish a play, run to their position then lie down on the field. The cameras also panned to the CMU O-line who was upset about and McElwain who was rightfully pissed. An absolute novice watching the game would know what the EMU defensive players were doing. It's an embarrassment and I'm pointing out the hypocrisy of the coaching staffs mantra of playing anyone, anywhere, on broken glass and we are clearly faking injuries. Running to your position after a play, then lying down....lol Again, when both announcers are playing replays mocking EMU for it on several occasions......

I never said the embrace needed to be warm. You said that and must have been amused. You will typically see CC chat with the opposing coach and that handshake looked different was all I was saying. Either way, CMU was the better team

Not condoning their flagrant fouls just stating my observations along with others.

Dear steve4840,
Since when are announcers the purveyors of truth? They can say whatever they want, but that doesn't amount to anything meaningful.

Ken,
If you think the EMU guys were not faking injuries, then so be it. They weren't according to you. We'll just let it sit with countless others who believe it was Bush league. Ya know, it's possible to root for your team and be critical when you clearly see something that is abnormal.

Lol

In my opinion, this was laughable. I used my own eyes and determined that on multiple plays our guys finished the play, ran to their spot and then had injuries. I know football and I know what they were doing. It's not about believing announcers, just use your eyes. I'm done arguing something so clear.

The bottom line.....I think next year we see a rule that a player that leaves the game with an 'injury' stays out for the series. I trust this will magically heal the phantom wounds we had that mysteriously healed by the next play and also happened to all occur in conjunction to CMU offensive positive plays.

Come on Ken. Give up the battle. Anyone who knows a shred about football could see Eastern was faking injuries like a little league team out there. You are not believing your eyes or brain because it goes against your 'team' which is a microcosm of the larger problem we are experiencing as a country. Announcers don't generally spread "fake news" during telecasts. My goodness! 03-banghead

Yes, I agree, such a rule would eliminate the BS of players faking injuries.
