Notre Dame might be pretty darn close as well, even if they lost to Stanford, I think they would be in the top 10-11 and make it.

Ole Miss would join this group tonight IMO with a win.

Ole Miss wins and they will be a NY 6 team for sure. Either Sugar or Fiesta/Peach.

I think UC is in, even with a loss to Houston. Don’t see how MSU or UM jumps them if both have two losses. Also PAC12 winner is relegated to Rose Bowl bid, so B1G won’t have more than two teams. Big 12 champ getting into the playoff could throw a wrench in things though.

There probably isn't one. They will badly want the Sugar Bowl, but I bet they will play the ACC champ in the Peach Bowl.

Yes, if any conference will send four teams to the NY6, it will be the B1G.

Again, a reason for them to support a 12-team playoff with no caps.

I'd kind of guess the only way Michigan St would get left out is if Oklahoma beats Oklahoma St tomorrow, but then OSU returns the favor next week. That would get 3 Big 12 teams in I think.

Otherwise it's an 11-2 Alabama vs an 11-2 Big 12 champ

I have no issue with a 2-loss Alabama in the CFP if they are one of the four best teams. I think they can sneak in if they lose to Georgia in a tight OT CCG. I’m not sure they would but it’s not unreasonable.

Oklahoma St only has 1 loss as well. And they would have the benefit of not playing same team back to back unlike Oklahoma.

I see them getting 3 spots but not 4.

The SEC is a lock for 3 spots: Georgia, Alabama, & Ole Miss
ND, Cincinnati, the PAC 12 Champ, and the ACC Champ will take another 4.

I’m predicting a 1 loss Big 12 Champ in the CFP, which means they get a 2nd bid at the Sugar Bowl.

That leaves just 3 for the Big 10.

The Big 10 is probably going to send a top 12 team to Orlando for the Citrus Bowl (or whatever it’s corporate equivalent is these days).
