As many here know I worked in Pharma for more than a decade. My contacts here in Louisville told me in August 2020 the Pfizer vaccine was done. It was in the warehouse ready to ship in September. My friends told me it was never going to be distributed with DJT in the White House. These are reasons why. These lies cost many elderly their lives.

Chuck Todd Lets Cat out of the Bag on Media’s Obsession With New COVID Variant

For those still harboring the notion that journalists at national news outlets like CNN, MSNBC, and the like are focusing like laser beams on Omicron out of concern for how it may negatively impact the American people, news anchors at both NBC News and ABC News gave the game away during rather revealing segments this morning where they fretted on how a potential mass outbreak of the new variant on par with the Delta variant could … hurt Joe Biden and Democrats next year.

First up was “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd, never one to shy away from going full-blown lapdog for Democrats when he feels the occasion calls for it (which is quite often). In the below segment from the “Today Sunday” show, we see him talking to “Morning Joe” co-host and “Today Sunday” host Willie Geist about Omicron and how Joe Biden should use it to seize back control of the narrative on the pandemic about how Republicans were anti-vaccine/mask mandates, insinuating Republicans were dangerous for America going into 2022.

Does Biden “use the bully pulpit [to] pushback at all this vaccine misinformation that’s out there, and grab a hold of this?” Todd frantically wondered, suggesting none of the other things Biden does matters unless/until COVID is in the rearview mirror, and advising him to be “more front and center” on the response to COVID that he allegedly has been in recent months:

As a side note, I saw several liberals on Twitter complaining earlier about how Todd allegedly doesn’t invite Democrats on his shows often and instead chooses to bring on Republican guests. Apparently, these guys aren’t satisfied that Todd apparently views himself as the Democrat and “bully pulpit” during his program and likely doesn’t feel the need to add one to the roster.

But I digress.

On to the ABC News segment, watch below as ABC News deputy political director Averi Harper was asked by colleague Rachel Scott about “how much of a challenge” the new variant was to President Biden politically. Harper proceeded to note how it “could pose a significant threat” to the “progress” Joe Biden has allegedly made on other fronts:

I don’t doubt that there is genuine concern among some in the media regarding the threat that the Omicron variant could pose to the American people is real, but you’re going to find that more on a local level with ABC, NBC, and CBS affiliates in your city much more than you’re going to find from the national media. Local reporters have far more interactions and connections with their communities and (with exceptions) feel far more accountable to the people who view and read their stories.

But as the case has always been from the very start of this, the particular concerns with the national press are more in line with how they can use the coronavirus politically to hurt Republicans and advance the Democratic agenda. We saw it play out repeatedly last year in various ways, including how they – along with Democrats like Biden and Harris – undermined possible treatment options for the coronavirus, including Trump’s touting of hydroxychloroquine as well as his repeated assertions that a vaccine was likely to be available for distribution and administration by the end of the year.

In short, for our intellectual betters in the MSM, it’s not about the public health so much as it is about the public’s perception as to who is supposedly “doing more” to help the country get back to normal.

It’s very rare we get such candid admissions from reporters at the Big Three television networks, but we thank them for it all the same. Puts many things in a much clearer perspective as we head into the midterm campaign season.

All Confirmed Cases of Omicron in Europe Are People Who Are “Asymptomatic or With Mild Symptoms”

Numerous countries across the world have imposed new restrictions based on initial warnings that the new variant could be worse than delta, including in England where masks have been made compulsory in numerous public settings.

Dr Jenny Harries, the current head of NHS Test and Trace, also seized on the new variant to urge Brits to stop socialising over Christmas.

As we highlighted earlier, University of Oxford Professor Jim Naismith asserted that despite England dropping its mask mandate in July and Scotland keeping its rules in force, official data shows this “has made no meaningful difference” to infection rates.

“In both countries very high levels of prevalence have continued for months. Thus the new changes announced are unlikely to have much of an impact if Omicron does indeed spread rapidly,” he added.

Hopefully the new variant doesn't lead to anything worse than the sniffles. However, the media never fails to present something they know nothing about as the next "end of the world" scenario. I guess putting the fear of God into people brings eyeballs and makes the networks lots and lots of money.

Democrats Eagerly Await the Omicron Variant

One hardly needs to consult the Delphic Oracle to explain the Democratic overreaction to the new COVID-19 variant. It’s clear that, absent some extraordinary turn of events, their congressional majorities will be swept away by a tidal wave of voter wrath in 2022. More than one reputable poll shows a double-digit GOP advantage on the generic ballot. To survive, the Democrats need to change the election rules and Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) believes he knows their strategy: “Here comes the MEV – the Midterm Election Variant! They NEED a reason to push unsolicited nationwide mail-in ballots.”

Jackson, who served as Physician to the President under Barack Obama and Donald Trump, isn’t a nut. Nonetheless, he has been portrayed in the media as a crazy conspiracy theorist. Bloomberg asks, “Why would a congressman spread wacky theories linking the variant to the midterm elections?” The obvious answer is that the Democrats exploited the initial COVID-19 outbreak as a pretext for changing election laws before the 2020 general election — particularly as they related to mail-in ballots. In September of 2020, ABC News reported on the confusion caused by the avalanche of election law changes:

With election officials already working around the clock to cope with the mass changes to election law this year — mainly the expansion of absentee voting eligibility so Americans can vote from home safely during the pandemic — it can be frustrating to have to process multiple applications from a single voter.… Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon said that snowballing can become frustrating for election officials, who have to process multiple applications from one voter.

The Democratic push for nationwide mail-in voting is hardly a conspiracy theory. It is a major feature of the Freedom to Vote Act co-sponsored by none other than Sen. Joe Manchin (D-W.Va.). This bill won’t pass the Senate while the filibuster is in place, and the Mountain State senator has pledged that he won’t vote to eliminate that venerable parliamentary tool. He has, however, signaled that he is open to filibuster “reform.” What better excuse does he need than a new COVID-19 strain that prevents voters from casting ballots? The leftwing Brennan Center for Justice describes what we’ll get If Manchin caves:

The bill would create a national standard permitting no-excuse vote by mail for every eligible voter. States would be required to permit voters to apply for absentee ballots online and prohibited from restricting the ability of election officials to distribute absentee ballot applications.… Any mail ballot postmarked on Election Day that arrives within seven days would need to be counted, and ballots could not be discarded for minor errors, like failing to use an outer security envelope.

This provision of the Freedom to Vote Act would increase the potential for voter fraud exponentially. It is but one of the many defects that rendered the For the People Act dead on arrival in the Senate. In addition to mandating nationwide mail-in voting, this bill would require automatic voter registration by state motor vehicle departments, guaranteeing that non-citizens and other ineligible people will vote. It would loosen voter ID requirements to the point at which they would be completely meaningless and eliminate any and all state laws requiring voters to have a photo ID in order to cast a ballot.

In the happy event that this bill fails to escape Congress, the fallback position for the Democrats will be to emulate New York Gov. Kathy Hochul. Last Friday, after admitting that the variant hadn’t been detected in New York, she issued Executive Order 11: “I, Kathy Hochul, Governor of the State of New York, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the Laws of the State of New York … declare a State disaster emergency for the entire State of New York.” The ostensible purpose of EO-11 involves postponing elective procedures so hospital beds will be available when the new variant arrives.

It is, however, difficult to escape the suspicion that it’s really about the augmented authority Hochul awards herself by declaring such an emergency. State law authorizes her to issue executive orders that “temporarily suspend specific provisions of any statute, local law, ordinance, or orders, rules or regulations, or parts thereof, of any agency during a state disaster emergency.” Much of the mischief perpetrated by blue state governors in 2020 was committed pursuant to similar emergency declarations. In Michigan, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer’s emergency orders were struck down by the state Supreme Court.

But that’s just the law, a mere inconvenience for the Democrats. If they can exploit the Omicron variant to retain power, they won’t hesitate. It doesn’t matter if the Freedom to Vote Act passes or if blue state governors abuse their authority again. All they want is a compliant electorate and the reins of power firmly in Democratic hands.
