I didn't expect us to beat DePaul, and Farrakhan didn't play, but I also didn't see A 38 points embarrassing loss either! We just don't have much scoring wise inside! This's also a team with a lot of new players as well! But, this schedule sure beats playing D2, and D3 schools though! Heath will get pieces eventually in place!
Agree x100!

EMU’s new offense is based on getting the ball into the low-post. Such makes no sense since EMU has poor shooters inside and was facing a superior opponent who could defend well inside. This was not a game to introduce a new offensive system that players recently learned.
Even in the first 13-minutes into the game,9 of EMU’s 22-points we’re 3-three’s that helped EMU be tied at 22-22. But over the last 7:34 minutes of the first-half, EMU committed 7 turnovers trying to pass the ball down low. Such led to EMU being outscored 31-6 over the remainder of the half. Game over. Golson and N.Scott combined for eight of EMU’s turnovers in the game.
Today’s game should be a wake-up call. Not only does EMU’s offensive scheme has to change so EMU’s players don’t have to drive into a cluttered paint only to be confronted big defenders.
EMU’s defense was equally as bad as EMU did not pressure the ball outside
and try to disrupt DePaul’s offense, nor did EMU attempt to force DePaul turnovers.
EMU compounded matters by sending it’s bigs to defend the high-post, not the rim, which resulted in DePaul’s bigs having an unimpeded path to the hoop for an easy scores.
To many EMU players played poorly. As McBride playing 28 minutes scored 0-points on 0-6 shooting, and Spottsville playing 22 minutes scored but 4-points. Both need to work on expanding their vision and looking for the open man when they start their drives to the hoop.
Binelli played 15-minutes scored but 3-points. Needs to roll to the hoop when opponents in his face stooping his three point shot.
Njie committed 4 fouls playing only 10-minutes. Feet are planted in cement. Might be better if he works in practice this season on his development.
HC Heath doing a good job giving everyone a chance to play so he can determine about can and who can’t contribute amen MAC play commended at the end of December. .
I would like to see N.Scott, Yusef, and Ballard play more. Suspect they the three players can consistently score more points, and are better overall players than Njie, Okongo, Binelli, and Golson. EMU is still in the process of finding out who can play and who can’t.
When Noah returns would like to see Luca, Noah, and Monty starting in the backcourt so EMU gets more consistent shooting from the backcourt. Luka prefers to pass first. EMU needs him to shoot first, pass later.
Off of defensive rebounds. EMU should make better use of EMU’s athletic guards by pushing the ball up the court on passes to guards further up the court.
