I was on your side until I saw this epic post on Reddit about what it is like to attend. I want to go to there.

i personally wouldn't mind the Bahamas Bowl IF they would play it between Christmas and NYD. That'd give a fanbase a decent opportunity to at least TRY to make plans to attend. Being on the first weekend, there's quite literally zero opportunity to make plans.
Sun Belt should go after any bowl that's NOT on the first weekend of bowl season. Having 7-10 days or so to plan a trip is not ideal for any fanbase.

I didn't know there was a rule like this. How does it work? Since the Sun Belt will have 14 members would that entitle the Sun Belt to additional Bowl agreements?
Unless I’m misremembering, the number of bowl tie-ins a conference can have depends on the average number of bowl eligible teams they have each year. The calculation is done every few years when the bowl tie-ins are negotiated and changed. I ran the numbers a while back with our new members and we go from an average of 5 to 7. Obviously CUSA’s numbers will go down with the loss of 9 teams. I don’t know what is done with teams like JMU and JSU moving up but do not think they factor into that calculation since they’ve not played an FBS schedule. This will all work itself out.

And Atlanta didn't get their All-Star Game, nor did Charlotte, yet Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, Boston, New York City et. al. get to keep whatever they like.
Sorry...
Funny how that works…

Same with South Carolina. We had a confederate flag flying on state grounds in Columbia. Once it was removed, negotiations for a bowl game in SC began and we now have the Myrtle Beach Bowl.

My predictions:
Big 12 takes AAC's spot in the Birmingham Bowl.
AAC takes over C-USA's spot in the New Orleans Bowl.
C-USA becomes almost, if not completely, exclusively ESPN-owned bowls.
