Yes, but overall a very good showing. You were the better team throughout the game, too bad it was blown in the OT.

This whole Coastal Carolina vs. Louisiana bickering in almost every thread has GOT TO STOP. It's seriously old, folks. There were two reported posts just now, one from a Cajun fan and one from a Coastal fan. I just removed all those posts and put them on the Smack Board. Again. I don't even find those posts that offensive but because you are incessantly fussing with each other everything is considered offensive coming from the other side. You guys need a better hobby than antagonizing each other. I don't know how many more times we can ask you all to stop before we get serious and putting each offender on post moderation or giving you a week off.

Yet your 2 point speaker that you barely pulled out against them was no more impressive.

Ban’em. No need for fans on either side to keep pushing. As a mod you don’t need that frustration.

Well I don’t know why the UL game got brought into here, twice now, in the first place, but if you’re going to compare the 2 then I think the big difference is that USA went toe-to-toe with us, pretty much the whole game. The game last night USA was the better team throughout the entire 1st half, and it wasn’t very close. Plus, UL played better than them enough to win in reg time, while it took CCU an OT yesterday for them to get the W.

The UL poster said nothing about UL, just commented on the game. CC poster derails thread. Definitely needs to be dealt with.
And I agree, South Alabama looked like the better team but made some bad decisions and could not close it out.

Funny how facts don’t lie…..
Total yards:
USA: 387
ULL: 289
Total yards:
USA: 349
CCU: 491
It “took OT” because we had TWO Touchdowns called back, one for an out of bounds block that happened 30 yards behind the play and one because McCall was a yard past the LOS when he threw the ball.
So yeah, USA was absolutely the better team in one of those games, just not the one against Coastal.

I second this. Ban them. Every single thread we have gets derailed into a pissing match and it's beyond old.
I'm guessing it's going to die down now that the season is coming to a close but my gosh it has been annoying to probably everyone viewing the thread outside of the 4-5 posters in a pissing match back and forth.

It’s really only 2 posters. Please don’t label the whole fan base for a vocal minority.

Huh? I didn’t say those calls weren’t legit, the point was that it was a hair from being a 2-3 TD win as the total yardage would indicate. But if you want to get real technical about it….. if a referee can give a player a “counseling session” instead of throwing a flag for obviously shoving a player in the end zone, he damn sure could’ve overlooked a block out of bounds 30 yards behind that kickoff return too. But yeah, it was very obvious the refs were trying to get USA bowl eligible.

I wonder how many touchdowns the Jags would have had if it wasn't for those tackles, etc.
That is what that "except for the penalties" talk sounds like.

The call on McCall being past the line of scrimmage was totally justified. But the call for “blocking out of bounds” 30 yards behind the play was no less discretionary than the unsportsmanlike in the end zone. If you’re going to take a TD off the board for a block that didn’t affect the play at all, then you shouldn’t be letting a shove go that happens literally 3 yards in front of you. And if that were ULL, you’d feel exactly the same way.
