Mayorkas Confirms Biden Administration Working With Big Tech to Curb 'Misinformation'
Quote:In this episode of “Try to Control Your Shock and Amazement”…

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas has confirmed what the informed among us have known since day one: The Biden administration is in “robust” discussions with Silicon Valley and the tech sector about curbing the free speech of everyday Americans it deems to be “misinformation.”

While there’s a tendency to no longer be surprised by anything the rabid left does or tries to get away with anymore, let’s stop and think about what you just read, for a minute. It is chilling.

It is not an overstatement to say it is reminiscent of the old Soviet Union days. Of the Communists in Beijing, Cuba, and the rest of the world’s dictators and repressive regimes.

Moreover, we give the left an inch at our peril. Like spoiled children, they will try to take a mile every time, even it takes eating the proverbial elephant one bite at a time.

So…

“Misinformation” as defined by what, Mr. Mayorkas? By whom? For what purpose?

The ever-icy Mayorkas, who can’t import enough illegal aliens fast enough, told Bloomberg in an interview [see video below] on Tuesday his main concern is “how to do it” versus whether the federal government has the fundamental right to suppress facts and opinions with which it disagrees. Again, profound — but hardly a surprise.

I had very robust discussions with individuals [in Silicon Valley and the tech sector]. You know, the “How to accomplish it?” is something that is not easily navigated.

We recognize that the First Amendment concerns are extraordinarily important. It’s a founding principle of our country. I think they’re very dedicated to doing so.

[Nonsense. They don’t give a damn about the First Amendment.]

And I think the “How to” and “How we can work together” is something we’re all working through.

The emotionless arrogance of this guy is almost as troubling as the subject matter.

It gets worse. Mayorkas considers curbing free speech “very much within our [the federal government’s] domain.” As transcribed by Breitbart:

Misinformation — pointedly, disinformation — has very serious and significant ramifications for [the Department of] homeland security [and] the integrity of our election system.

[As opposed to open borders, shipping untold numbers of illegal aliens across the country, many of them COVID-positive, in the dead of night against the wishes state and local government, Mr. Mayorkas?]

The security of our election system is a prime example of that. And so, [we are] […] very much involved in addressing misinformation, disinformation, and the threats that they pose to the homeland.

See what Mayrokas did, there? He has the cojones to use the election system as an excuse?

When it’s the Democrat Party that incessantly pushes lax election laws and vote insecurity, including easy-to-cheat mail-in ballots, no picture IDs, ridiculously-early voting, and a host of other measures specifically designed and supported to allow Democrat voters to cheat. And then Mayorkas refers to boogeyman nonsense like misinformation and disinformation as a reason to suppress free speech.

Bloomberg Senior Executive Editor Brad Stone continually set the table for Mayorkas to continue to make the case for censorship, at one point asking:

Do you ever get upset by just the ubiquity of falsehoods … in our in our public dialogue, and and the ease with which they are transported across social media and the internet?

Needless to say, Mayorkas hit that one out of the park:

I do. I think that false narratives present a threat to our security. The propagation of false narratives is something to be condemned. We need our leaders to step up and fight against it. Because the words of leaders, they matter quite a bit.

[Like Biden’s words “matter,” Mr. Mayorkas? His propaganda and false narrative about the Omicron variant, for example? Should that speech be curbed?]

They can be very influential in the public discourse. […] And the country’s divide is something that has security implications, and it’s also very saddening.

Oh, please. One of the foundational tenets of the Democrat Party is to pit half of America against the other half by nearly any means possible. And there is no better example than the Biden administration.

In the vein and spirit of The Great One, Mark Levin, that’s it. I can’t stand this guy. I’m done.

Here’s the entire interview.
