I think us or EMU goes to the Detroit Bowl. In 2014 & 2015 we finished 8-5 & did not go to the Detroit Bowl, so I don't think Central will go to it this year.
CMU is a better draw for Detroit than we are. I am not sure about EMU but they drew very well in 2019 for being 6-6. I know our Detroit game against Illinois back in 07 and the Purdue Little Ceasars Game were both well below what CMU brought to Ford Field around that time.

Why the hell is that game at 11am on a Monday?!?!?!?!? Unlikely I'd be able to go :(
I'm guessing those CMU teams that drew better than we did were back when they had Brian Kelly, etc.

Conversely, the 2016 MACC game drew 45k+, by far the best attended MAC championship game. Not a bowl game, but still.

Post Week 12 Projections:
CBS: Boca Raton vs Marshall
Sports Illustrated: Cure vs Liberty
24/7: Frisco vs Utah St
All over the map.
Liberty finished 7-5, but would not want to go up against Hugh Freeze.
Marshall finished 7-5 as well, looks like they beat everyone below them & lost to everyone above them. Have first year head coach
Do not want Utah St
Also do not want Potato Bowl vs Boise St

RE: Bowl Watch Thread
Mandel at the Athletic has us in Detroit against Missouri. Those seem to be the most well-researched projections I've found, but of course it's difficult to predict and still a lot of dominoes to fall.

2011 - WMU VS Purdue - 46,177
2015 - CMU VS Minnesota - 34,217
2019 - EMU VS Pittsburgh - 34,765
Looking at all of the attendance numbers for every year and we see that there is a high turn out when a Michigan MAC team plays a P5 school. Of those Michigan MACs, WMU blows out the others in attendance.

RE: Bowl Watch Thread
I’ve seen two projections updated in the last 24 hours vs liberty or Marshall.
I like both of those matchups as they are very winnable games.
TL job is on the line in this bowl game.
He absolutely has to win this bowl game

In our minds, yes. He has to win. So far he has zero MAC West titles, zero MAC championships, zero bowl wins. 1 P5 win that looks stranger with every passing week. He's really done nothing of importance, though.
But he won 7 games again, so he's not going anywhere. MAC schools do not and can not fire coaches after winning seasons (barring some scandal). He has a winning record and no losing seasons. That's good enough to secure him a cushy coaching job for life at a school like WMU. The administrators don't give a ****.

He outcoached Narduzzi and we played a great game. It's probably the best p5 win in program history.

Well I for one would like for us to end up in Detroit. We need a little bit of attention in SE Michigan. It has been too long.

I think Pitt probably didn't do too much prep for us , film study, etc..
The more familiar you get with Lester's offense the easier it is to stop, that's why we can no longer beat teams in our division unless they are resting starters after clinching. Very predictable...

You can forget the idea that Tim Lesters job is on the line.
Zero chance with 7-5 season record.
Besides WMU has no money to fire or rehire.
New AD next year will choose direction of Bronco sports

I posted this on another thread -
I would like to formally endorse Mr. Ron English. Ron is a WMU alumni with 37 years of experience in college athletics including, but not limited to stints at Southern Ill. (1.5 yrs.), Missouri Valley Conference - Assistant Commissioner (7 yrs.), Ohio Valley Conference - Senior Associate Commissioner (3 yrs.) and Director, Division 1 Men's Basketball Championship (2007 - current)
We need to break away from the "good ole boys club" and start taking WMU athletics in the Right direction.......
Thank you for your support.
