Jerry Kill next NMSU coach?
Kill was just asked about the NMSU job in his presser today and he didn't deny it.

TCU interim football coach Jerry Kill addresses report linking him to New Mexico State

https://www.star-telegram.com/sports/col...51662.html

Along with Kill being a target, FootballScoop reported that TCU offensive analyst and longtime Pittsburg (Kansas) State head coach Tim Beck (82-35 at Pittsburgh State) would join him as offensive coordinator at New Mexico State.

I would be fine with both of those two. I seem to remember that when NMSU beat Minnesota Kill was the coach and he had a seizure during the game. Plus, Pittsburgh State has a great mascot!

Wow, good for NMSU. Maybe they won't get blown out by Tarleton now!

I've never met him but Pojo comes off as a good guy from what I can tell here, not a trash talker. Oh, you meant Sammy. Just ignore him, he brings nothing of value.

There are the Five Stages of SammyH a poster must go through:

Stage 1: Anger-this is the normal first reaction to his posts

Stage 2: Disgust-this is when you feel like you can’t take anymore

Stage 3: Grief-this is when you remember the time lost reading his posts

Stage 4: Admiration-when you actually start to appreciate his stupidity

Stage 5: Anticipation-this stage, only achieved by a few, leads you to a state of bliss where you look forward to the next SammyH post just to see how much of a jack ass he makes of himself this time.

Btw this model can also be used for the Five Stages of IntestinalTexan. And I should mention to reach stage 5 you cannot have a life. Which I do not.

At least IT is good for a laugh, not often but occasionally.

This feels like a great hire for NMSU.

I hope Kill has resolved his health issues. If so, then this is a great move for the Aggies.

I also hope Martin was made aware of all of this before it came out publicly.

A bit cynical about this tbh. He certainly has the resume to go somewhere with more drawing power.

If Coach Kill wanted a challenge, he's got one now. I like it.

NMSU football budget is $9.2 million. How people talk, you would think the budget was like a couple of million.

Moccia and Kill are both former ADs at SIU. Moccia’s was also Kill’s AD briefly when Kill coached there.

Hopefully with a new coach and a new football conference, this works out for NMSU. Kill was doing good things at Minnesota until his health issues came along.

RE: Jerry Kill next NMSU coach?
Everywhere Kill has gone, he improved the program. If NMSU hires Kill, I feel he will do the same at NMSU as long as he gets the resources. NMSU really needs a jump start to the football program. Hopefully a good coach and the added revenue from joining CUSA will finally move the program in the right direction. I hate leaving the WAC. I like the make-up of the schools added over the years; especially in basketball. But if NMSU wants to remain an FBS football school, going to CUSA is the logical move. At this point, WAC football has too many FCS programs who will take over a decade to be FBS ready.
