Should UNCW try and bring him back if he does get the boot? Is there any interest from the fans in doing so?

Hypothetically, I'd welcome Keatts back, but I have no idea what that looks like given our current situation. I don't see it happening.

If Keatts goes, he will still land a job in a P5 conference. No way he comes back to UNCW for financial reasons alone.

Yeah, I'd have to agree on this. I can see him taking a pay cut of some sort but not as drastic of a cut as going back to what we could afford. Not only that, but that would be an awful look for him and Siddle, because we'd have to let Siddle go then hire his old boss. Yikes. PR nightmare there. I would have to think if there's ever a chance Keatts comes back, he'd have to go fail somewhere else between NCSU and us, and we'd have to be a coach separated between him and Siddle. The only other way I could foresee that working out is if Siddle magically turns this train around, starts winning big like Keatts did and lands himself a P5 job while Keatts misses again at another school. That's the only way I see a Siddle back to Keatts transition working.

Pretty good day for the CAA to pretty much end OOC play.
UNCW beat Campbell
Hofstra destroying Monmouth(10-2)
Towson beats Navy(7-4)
William and Mary lost to Valpo
CofC in a tight one, but leading, against ODU.

Everybody won tonight except bill & the virgin. That's 4 out of 5. Good night for the conference.

That pushes the CAA up to 12th in the Conference RPI rankings. Not too shabby.

Hofstra looked like they were going to run away with it against Monmouth. I watched the last four minutes of that game and Monmouth is a really good team. They had a big man that was doing it in the paint, from three and at the FT line. 26 pts. 9-12 from the field, 3-4 from three and 5-7 FT's with 6 rebounds.
Monmouth had beaten Towson, St. Josephs, Princeton, Cincinnati, Pitt, Yale and Colgate and lost to St. Johns by 5 and Charlotte by 2 as their only losses. That was a huge win for Hofstra. They're going to be tough in the CAA.
CofC won on a last second shot to beat ODU in a great finish.

No chance he gets another P5 job without going somewhere else first and win if he gets fired -zero .

Thinking of Keatts, I looked to see Danny Manning's record at Wake. I was thinking that Keatts may be more likely to go P5 assistant route, but he's way better than Manning. Manning was awful. How did he get 6 years at Wake?

Manning stumbled right into the Interim tag at Maryland. I think leading a Mid is a better spot than a P5 assistant. Look at how many P5 assistants fail making the jump to HC.

There are multiple P5 schools that would snap up Keatts. Winning in the ACC and at NCSU is a tough gig and Keatts plays a style a lot of schools would like.

He's had the red sea part with Roy leaving UNC and K leaving Duke next year, and he's still getting beat by teams they have no business losing too. Eventually the proof is in the pudding. Other guys that left state and went on to other P5s actually has some success while at state, he hasn't.

You're dismissing the fact that many schools are just looking for a decent program, not necessarily a championship program. Brownell has been mediocre at best at Clemson, and he's still there. Pitt, Boston College, Ole Miss, South Carolina, Miss St. are all P5 schools that have never been in championship consideration and would certainly take a chance on Keatts.

Name one P5 school that would hire Keatts after and if he gets fired at State. His brand is boring and he is not winning -frankly I don't know what State is waiting for with this . They don't defend and they don't score much-so what is appealing about that ?

I'm not going to look them all up, but taking South Carolina for example, why the heck would they fire Martin, who is well above .500 for KK who's winning % is only slightly better at State? Same Thing with BB's winning %? And both of those guys came from successful last stops before landing where they are.

You’re acting like coaches before him at NCSU haven’t been hired by P5s as head coaches.
I’m not understanding your logic, especially considering how many P5s are out there.
