Illinois threw up the white flag in the second half and accepted their a$$ kicking.

From the point it was 23-8 we outscored them 63-28.

That was the #14 team in the nation.

Yea right.

10 players with over 10 minutes played. Interesting that our top 5 scorers were here last year...Saunders, Davenport, Lahkin, DDJ, and Mika. Davenport 19 pts in 22 mins. Mikey 20 pts in 24 mins. Damn efficient. Ado 19 mins, 5 boards (2 offensive), 3 steals, 1 block, 1 assist, 5 fouls...that's pretty good.

I know I'm getting a little ahead on this but B12 officials are secretly high-fiving on zoom over the inclusion of Cincinnati to greatly enhance their football and basketball brand and competitiveness. We couldn't be trending any better in both sports right now...

So how are we feeling about Arkansas? Do we match up well with them?

RE: Illinois Game Thread
I am guessing Illinois struggles to stay in the top 50 but this is still a huge win. My expectations for this season haven’t changed but I felt this group was seriously underestimated by everyone. The schedule ahead still provides a difficult but likely path to 11 non conference wins which is the required number needed to make the tournament if UC gets 12 or more in conference play.

I want a win Tuesday night badly for this group. Mikey was a much needed playmaker tonight. I hope he continues to be the best guard on floor as this teams need it.

A lot of different puzzle pieces fit in different ways depending on the game. There is no POY alpha type but a lot really good role players.

Arkansas coach is also Eric Musselman. Who was the coach at Nevada when......

Arkansas has fun guards. JD Notae took a big step this year and shoots A LOT. They also have 5'7" Chris Lykes and 7'3" Connor Vanover.
Lykes (Miami FL), Au'Diese Toney (Pitt) and Stanley Umude (South Dakota) all transferred in last year. Musselman loves transfers.
Toney is a slasher type who is pretty efficient. He's average 11 a game only 19 shots all year.
Umude was a STUD last year at South Dakota and rebounds well as a undersized 4.

I absolutely love this team.

We rolled out 4 separate bigs against Cockburn and wore him down. Ado isn't flashy, but he played him tough after the initial run. Great adjustment by Miller to crash two on him at every touch.

Saunders is an absolute game changer. Dejulius has been really good these last couple games as well. JD has turned himself into a complete sniper. This is fun.

They have a 7’3” guy who looks like he weighs about 85 pounds.

He’s got ten and is 8-8 from the line.

Completely turned the game with that. Incredible.

Lahkin was great too, and he didn't even play 20 minutes. This team has some many pieces.

Man you weren't kidding, looks like a stiff breeze could blow him over. Surprisingly athletic though and has good hands
