Pablo Escobar: el patrón del mal (Netflix)
Perhaps because I'm a guy I'm just drawn to mafia/cartel shows. Usually stories like this tend to glorify gangstas, to a degree. El Patrón del Mal is the complete opposite of that. It really paints Escobar as the worst guy to ever live. Being that the initial book, the show is based off of, I don't think it's a surprise.

The Narcos series gives us more of the DEA search of Pablo, whilst El Patrón del Mal gives us more of the Search Blocs point of view. Both series tend to complement the other. Where Narcos misses, El Patrón del Mal hits and vice versa.

Where El Patrón del Mal really hits is the constant introduction of the family members of those that are about to be assassinated by the cartel. Seeing the granddaughter of the editor assassinated hit the hardest. She adored her grandfather, like many of us adored one of our grandparents. Then to add an extra-layer, the producers used actual footage of the breaking news of the assassinations, bombings and funerals.

Considering Narcos: Mexico is over.I think that it makes sense for Narcos to examine Europe. Escobar gave away free cocaine to the Galatian Mafia for information to make bombs as well as the Sicilian Mafia for information on how to launder money as well as how to structure the cartel.

Without any real evidence to back it up, I'd imagine that even the American/Italian Mafia had strong connections with Escobar and the Cali Cartel. They still have control of the major sea ports along the East Coast and Miami. It would've been impossible to import cocaine into Miami and New York without the blessing of the 5 Families.
