Don't know if he's just going by what recruits are saying, or if he actually knows something.

Honestly why would he leave any of these jobs. Ohio State, Notre Dame, and maybe Penn State. NFL comes calling everyone listens.

Most of current jobs out there are a combination of high expectations and big problems. To be honest the best jobs are probably ones where you can win a lot without crazy expectations or crazy competition.

All kinds of assumptions happening here. There hasn't even been a definitive sources that's stated interest from Fickell. And, of course he would coach in the Final Four. Are you saying that he's likely to go to USC, but wants to coach in the semis if we make it? And what about Southern California wouldn't his kids be able to handle. Be specific now.

All of which 8 million a year would remedy. Let’s not be silly. Everybody has a price. Fickell has to see that contract handed to Tucker and be thinking $$.$$

I just wrote what I heard today. Fickell wanting to coach UC in the playoffs could kill any offer if one was made. Signing day is Dec 15 I think. You also can listen to Full Ride about the 11:05 mark to determine what the guy was talking about.

Village People were NYC, and Haight Asbury (which is about as counter-culture these days as the Google buses that carry its residents to their 6 figure tech jobs) is in SF.

Obviously Bohn is even more familiar with MF than these guys. However, it's hard to see a lot of coaches in this part of the world wanting to migrate to the Pac12 dumpster fire.

These recent articles about Fick staying lead me to believe UC has worked out a new deal with him. The details may not all be ironed out, but he’s getting enough to stay.

My sense is our coaches understand they will be paid B12 money when the day arrives.

The Fickell's would be paying, I think, 13.3% state income tax on their W2 income.

The Fickell's would have to live in LA County, so it would be too far to send their kids to the only decent catholic HS which is Anaheim Servite.

The Fickells would be shopping for a home in the $2m to $2.5m range. And Luke will have a 30 to 60 minute drive to and from work everyday, assuming they don't provide a helicopter for his daily use. His wife's options are Palos Verdes, Rancho PV, Pasadena, Laurel Canyon and Beverly Hills. For a large Ohio family, Palos Verdes probably makes the most sense. The house will have to be large enough for a constant stream of Ohio family and friends.

I lived out there from 1982-1985 and then again from 1990-2015. (28 years total) I sold my SoCal houses and a SoCal 4 plex and moved home to Cincinnati when I retired. I traded the SoCal 4 plex (purchased in 1999) EVEN for a suburban Cincinnati 40 unit.

I now live in Symmes Township (Loveland schools). I'm getting ill just thinking about moving back to that mess...

I cannot see the Fickells moving their family to Los Angeles.

I think to get a comparable home in So Cal would be way more than $2 - 2.5 million.
Their IH home cost $2.4 million in 2017 and was over 7,000 sf on 3 acres and a pool and large pool house. They have added a barn (indoor volleyball court). That said if he doubles his salary, they could easily afford $5+ million.

There's only once decent Catholic HS in all of Southern California? What about Loyala which is in LA proper and is the best Catholic HS in the state.....and has football or Marymount for girls. That took me all of two minutes to find as they were at the top of the list. There are many valid reasons that Fickell might pass on USC. Not being able to find quality Catholic schools (with football for the boys) is not one of them.

We may be pointing our worries in the wrong direction. Rumblings out there that Ryan Day could be a candidate for the Chicago Bears HC job if they fire Matt Nagy. This may be something some radio host just floated because of his relationship with Justin Fields, but I think if Day shows any inkling of interest in the NFL, the Bears wouldn't be the only suitors. Although, his current salary would scare some teams off.
