Kinda done with the Southeast Missoura techs of the world.

Jus sayin

Once you start to play Football for real. You go to a bowl after a successful season.

Where you been this whole season or did you just wait until you became bowl eligible to come over here?

Only 6 losses and they beat Hampton - In golf terms that would be an eagle for ODU. 03-lmfao

That UT-Martin win surprised me for sure. Expected a better Missouri State team.
Yep. MO St turned the ball over 6 times and only lost by 1.
https://www.ozarkssportszone.com/2021/11...ut-martin/
MO St keeps it to 1-2 turnovers they win going away.

MO St had a good chance to knock off MT ST. I doubt UTM does..

UT Martin also played without its QB and conference POY.

If the Valley is so great and dominant, you would expect MoState to have little trouble playing at home in that one against a "lesser" team playing its backup QB.

One team from the MVC has won a national title in the last decade. The other two came from the Southland and CAA. If the MVC is so great, why can’t they beat NDSU? JMU did. Sam Houston did.

It is amazing to me how the MVC is lauded as a whole for the accomplishments of one school. The CAA doesn’t get the same treatment. Why?

A) NDSU is that great. Perhaps the most dominating 1A or 1AA team in history that dominant for such a long period of time.

B) MVC teams have beaten them, just not in the playoffs. What are we against them 1-3?

JMU's present potential playoff lines for the playoffs

JMU -8 at home versus SEL

Surprised me a little, but I guess this game should be somewhat close.

Presently we would be a 4.5 favorite at home versus Montana.

As I had said, I'm rooting for a great outcome, but I think this is a bad spot for JMU.

Presently we would be a 6.5 underdog at NDSU.

Seems like everyone is predicting we win it all - I don't think we make it to the finals, and even making it to the Semi's will be a pretty big challenge.

i know you love the MVC Dukester, because the Sagarin's love them, but who in the MVC has beaten us besides NDSU?

JMU 28 YSU 14
JMU 51 SDSU 16
JMU 17 No Iowa 0 (did they ever cross midfield?)
JMU 34 North Dakota 21

all double digit wins. none of them ever in doubt.

And while we beat NDSU at their house pretty handily, both national title games were basically draws that went to the last play of the game.

Just like CAA teams get a shot at us every year, MVC teams get a shot at NDSU every year. It's inevitable they will lose one or two. But just because the Bison won some titles, does not mean the rest of the league is that great.

It's like giving Loyola Marymount an at large bid in hoops because Gonzaga is ranked #1. that's illogical. just like the MVC love fest every year.

RE: Last time ever: FCS Playoff predictions
Even most NDSU fans know outside of SDSU the other teams are not very strong. It’s self-evident, out of 6 bids, thus far only SDSU has beaten a team from another conference in the playoffs. Their own fans discuss how weak their conference is all the time.

Sam Herder and the bison press pump the MVC strength narrative to help assure the Bison get a top seed. The NDSU tin dome is basically their path to frisco, and they know this. They lost at Sam Houston in the spring, but probably would have beat them at the dome.

Yes, the logical side off me likes the Sagarins. Still think it's funny nobody objects to the Sagarins if they reflect something positive for JMU or the CAA....

I know you feel there is this CAA anti-bias. I know you found the "Warren Nolan" rating that said JMU had a tougher SOS than NDSU.

A lot of ani-bias out there that you perceive.

1) Sagarins certainly have it.
2) Coaches poll has 6 teams from MVC - CAA with 2
3) Stats Poll had 6 teams from MVC in top 26 - CAA with 2
4) Selection Committee has 6 teams from MVC - CAA with 2
5) Massey loves MVC more than everyone else.

How come there is such overwhelming Subjective and Objective analysis the MVC is stronger this year?

JMU does not have one win versus a current top 25 team or anyone in the field. We lost at home to the only team we played in the top 25 or in the field.

I think #3 is more than fair for JMU.

JMU is -15.5 at home vs SELA.

Yeah I saw a couple lines come out this morning. The 2 TD lines is what it seemed like to me, but the calculation was certainly less. Will be interesting to see if it moves much though the week. I'd guess any major movement would be within 24 hours of the game.

There are equal arguments for JMU and NDSU being seeded #2. The committee chair said as much on the selection show when he stated the #2 seed was one of two items heavily debated by the committee.

You are missing our point. JMU hasn’t had a close game against a MVC school not named NDSU in the last six years. No one can argue NDSUs dominance. To be right there with them is a huge accomplishment for our program.

This playoffs this year will be fun, even more so if we beat the Bison in the dome again. Hope we’ve still got a few guys (CJ?) who remember the noise there and understand the challenges. Getting off clean snaps is not easy.

In five years outside of a possible Natty, I’d bet a large portion of our fans will say NDS-who? Not that they aren’t a great FCS team, just the SBC competition and exposure for SBC is at another level.

Don't usually toot my own horn, but I just couldn't understand the love for KSU. ETSU beat Vandy handily. And Vandy played competitively w/ several SEC schools this season. Who did Kennesaw beat that you could say was a season defining win?

It was a good call, and maybe in some ways an upset from popular opinion, but a very close game and ETSU had home field. Feels like to me Kennesaw could have won this on their field.

Will be very surprised if the score for ETSU vs NDSU is close after halftime. Would love to be wrong, but its hard to win in the dome. Believe we are still the only ones to do so for a playoff game.

This will fade and probably fast. The 1st year after we left in 1996, I watched a lot of playoff football, I knew the other teams and some of the players. By year 4 in IA I didn't care one bit.

Since Ive adopted ETSU since they reinstated football I watched part of a playoff game today for the 1st time in 5 or 6 years.

Trust me once you don't belong to a IAA conference and don't actually have a reason to know who is good and not the playoffs will become less missed. Now I also haven't watched a P5 vs P5 game since 2007 and if Marshall isn't playing I look for a CUSA game to watch, hopefully next year I can say Sun Belt game. If none are interesting I will find the best IAA or DII game on. There is always one on somewhere.

Nope. It won’t fade,

I’m excited for the future, but enjoy the heck out of the playoffs,

They don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

Talk to me in 5 or 6 years. Its exactly like HS football. I'll be the big 50 in a few weeks, went to every HS Football game while I was in HS, even the away games. But I haven't been to one since Jan 1990 when I was a senior.

Besides Wentz and Lance, I doubt I could name 5 players in the last 5 years from IAA schools. And I only know those 2 because they were so overrated someone thought they should have been 1st round picks. Wentz has already proved he wasn't. How long will it take Lance to prove the same thing. Not to say IAA schools haven't had kids with 1st round grades, but those 2 did not.
