Matt Brown Q&A
https://www.extrapointsmb.com/conference...l-mailbag/

I'm hearing that the preferred destination for both programs is the Missouri Valley. However, the MVC is really only interested in UT-Arlington. I've been told that the Mavericks were at or near the top of the MVC wishlist for a while, as presidents from the league's private schools pushed for the MVC to expand into larger markets (not to maximize TV revenue so much as to improve student recruiting). Little Rock is not in that conversation.
I am hearing that if the MVC doesn't work out, the OVC is a more likely destination for UALR than the ASUN, WAC or Southland. One person close to the program told me that while he understands why fans bring up the ASUN, "that still gives us the same problems we had in the Sun Belt, just now with less money."

Depends.

Murray St has to park FB somewhere if they go MVC. OVC might let them keep it there. If WIU moves to the OVC that should be enough.

But an Olympic OVC might be enough to peel away some of the Florida schools from the ASUN or NC/SC schools from the Big South. But even if they don't the travel for LR won't be horrible. Everyone would be a bus trip away.

Would they not move their football there also (MVFC)? It would give them 12 teams and they could split into two divisions.

RE: Matt Brown Q&A
I guess I could see the ASUN offering all 3 TN schools a spot in their conference but might lose some non-football members to the OVC?

SEMO and EIU would need new homes. Maybe the Southland would consider them as football members? Assuming Murray State went MVFC as well as MVC

At this point the Southland would consider Bishop Sycamore.

The MVC and the MVFC are 2 separate conferences. They have nothing to do with each other.

Didn't realize that. That makes more sense then.
