I was really getting into this thread and then I learned someone wasted a burrito by throwing it onto the field. Now all I can think about is how good a burrito for lunch would be.

First of all he was asked in a presser. I don’t feel like he “went to the press.” Not sure that’s really important either way, just an inaccurate bit of info that the handful of our fans who are still steaming about this keep including.

Didn’t the coach just repeat what that kid told him? I don’t practice slander/libel cases so I don’t have any insight into how these play out, but I would expect that it would have to be provable that Spurlin didn’t spit or say that stuff and I just don’t see how anyone could prove that, per se.

Look where this thread has gone, btw. Great idea to clutch our pearls at a time like this.

The NCAA Division I-AA Football Committee has publicly reprimanded Georgia Southern University for inappropriate behavior exhibited by its fans at the Division I-AA quarterfinal and semifinal playoff games hosted by the school in December 1999.

The committee will not permit Georgia Southern the privilege of hosting future playoff games if the behavior of its fans attending the university's football games does not conform to the Association's crowd-control policies.

umm article doesn't say who stole the ambulance, it could have been the opposing team's mascot for all we know

meanwhile, you have to do some really bad stuff to get banned from hosting the FCS playoffs.

That’s why I always liked playing App. One of the few teams in 1-AA/FCS that could take the harassment from fans and not curl up in the fetal position. Marshall could handle it and their fans definitely dished it out ( just like App). The difference is Marshall and Southern fans admit it. Appy fans want to make excuses for incident after incident, year after year. Toughen up like your team. They can take it and often give it back with our students. I’ve seen both sides laughing with each other. DG missing the wine and cheese crowd. Pinky finger up DG.
