Exclamation Kent State Football record book
Just took a look at the KSU Football record book to see where Dustin Crum stands headed into the Miami of OH game.

Career Completions:
1st - Spencer Keith with 732
2nd - Josh Cribbs with 616
3rd - Jose Davis with 552
4th - Dustin Crum with 525

Career Passing Yards:
1st - Spencer Keith with 8062
2nd - Josh Cribbs with 7169
3rd - Jose Davis with 6722
4th - Dustin Crum with 6683

Career Passing Touchdowns:
1st - Jose Davis with 57
2nd - Dustin Crum with 47

Career Rushing Touchdowns:
Tied for 8th - Astron Whatley 25 and Lou Mariano 25
10th - Dri Archer with 24
Dustin Crum has 21

Hopefully in the last 3 games (Miami, MAC Championship, & Bowl game) he can close the gap/pass some of those guys in those different categories.

He's also currently 3rd in passing yards in a season with 2488. #2 is him from 2019 at 2622. #1 is Jose Davis from 1997 at 2707. Davis' season is a tad bit more impressive though since it was 10 games. Of course Crum's rushing numbers dwarf Davis. Crum will likely finish with 2 seasons where he ran for more yards than Davis did for his career.

I'm surprised that Cribbs is #2. Everyone remembers him as primarily as running QB.

Cribbs and Keith both have an advantage because they were starters from day 1. Davis only played 3 seasons. While this is Crum's 5th season with us, he's only been the starter for 2 years plus the 4 game COVID season.

Are you certain Cribbs started from day #1? It seems to me he started after a game or two, like maybe Mc Daniels or Valentino started the season at QB. I could be wrong (and probably am).

Not sure. He played 11 games though.

He had a terrible sophomore year passing where he had more rushing yards and tds than passing. If we had Cribbs on this current team he might have thrown and rushed for 2000 yards in a season.

I was able to find online that Valentino, McDaniels and Cribbs all played in the first game at Iowa September 1, 2001. I don't THINK Cribbs started that game, but he did play. I'm pretty sure McDaniels was injured. Anyway, this is purely trivia. Your statement that Cribbs started from day #1 is, for all intents and purposes, essentially the case for statistical purposes.
