We exist for a purpose just as UTSA exists for a purpose. Without UTSA the state would have one less backup college for high school kids to apply to. We all have a role to play.

UNT will be playing for a few things Saturday:
1. Bowl eligibility
2. Ruin UTSA's perfect season
3. To save Seth Littrell's job.

The Mean Green will be playing with their hair on fire Saturday. If anyone on UTSA thinks they're gonna just show up and roll UNT they're in for a rude awakening. I'm not saying UNT is going to win, but it's going to be a dogfight.

In speaking of Seth Littrell's job, most of you wanted him out after last season, mainly citing his lack of an ability to get any semblance of a workable defense. This year you seem to have that, as you guys are #72 in Total Defense, #37 in Sacks, and #32 in Red Zone Defense. So what's the verdict now? You guys are currently 5-6, and on a 4-game winning streak. For you as fans, in terms of whether you feel he should or shouldn't return, does everything now hinge on this one game? Or would some of you be willing to wait and see whether your defense might still improve even more next season?

I think most UNT fans need to see Littrell beat UTSA and win a bowl game to bring him back next year. I think our "turnaround" has more to do with lousy competition rather than improvement on our end, but a win over UTSA would be a clear sign of progress that our leadership can't ignore. Our defense has improved greatly this year, but the offense is stagnant due to poor QB play, which is supposed to be Littrell's bread and butter. His failure to recruit/develop a QB since Fine left will likely be his downfall. If we had just average QB play this year we'd have 7 wins right now.

We have around 16 starters coming back next year and with the right coaching staff I think we have a good shot at 8-9 wins. I think Saturday will tell us whether Littrell will be coaching or not.

Ah. We always know education smack occurs when playing UNT. Just so you know, UTSA has the #1 cyber security program in the US. I work in the field and those guys can make six figures out of college. Real degrees for real people. Not a degree in Brass instruments or 17th century French poetry like you can get at UNT. You got us there.

None of those bother me, just the "Mean Green". Great name for a Nickelodeon Show, a Goosebumps book, or a villain on a PBS children's show. Its stupid no matter the historical context and the only place on earth it could have stuck is a band instructor school. Why on earth do you need a degree in playing brass instruments. You either know how to play or you don't. Did you not learn how to read music after 3 years in middle school and 4 years in high school that you needed to spend a couple grand on a degree saying you know how to do what you already know how to do. What a joke of a school.

Even if we did beat UTSA and win a bowl game (which Seth can't do), Littrell still wouldn't deserve another season at UNT. If Seth returns for a 7th season, most of the fans will protest by not buying tickets or showing up to games next season. And a larger portion of the diehard fans will revolt. Wren understands what needs to be done to keep banners from flying.

Yes. My wife and I take them in with us every game. Also, we are expecting rain tomorrow and the stadium doesn't permit umbrellas. You probably need to bring a poncho too. Glad you will make it for the game.
