Florida probably won't even be bowl eligible.

Then substitute Florida State. One of them has to be bowl eligible.

Last check FSU isn't in the SEC.

No they aren't and they don't have to be. The ACC is the backup in case the SEC doesn't have enough teams to fill it as they did in both 2018 and 2020. That would likely be the case again, if Florida is not eligible.

Count me in for Gasparilla or Birmingham Bowls or Cure ( last choice for me). All the other dates are conflicted for me and my crew.

On last night's coaches show, Crane said "This Friday will be our last chance to watch the Blazers in Protective Stadium until next year, right?" and Clark said "That's correct."

To me, that sounds like we won't be in the Birmingham Bowl.

Greg Sankey don’t want UAB playing in the SECs stadium.

Like I said, I think we're going to Montgomery. Or perhaps they'll volunteer to go to the Bahamas to take care of all those Super Seniors.

I'd rather they go to the Bahamas. I've already done that trip, so I won't feel bad not going. And "Christmas in Crampton" isn't very appealing.

Probably a good year to do the Bahamas Bowl. Reward the seniors with a cool trip and play somewhere not many fans are expected to go. I don't think the fan base as a whole is too motivated to do a bowl trip this year, especially if it conflicts with the WVU hoops game on the 18th.

I agree on all counts. I went to the first one in the Bahamas, and did Boca too, so probably wouldn't do either of those again. Mainly, I am having a hard time getting motivated to spend a lot of money and time at the holidays to go watch them again, especially if it conflicts with the West Virginia basketball game. (And with most of our C-USA tie-ins on that date, that was sure some dumb scheduling.)

Not sure why we can't seem to look at the bowl schedule when making our basketball schedule. I know scheduling can be very difficult, but we do not have the fan base to split.

Seems like HCBC "hinted" at somewhere new to go when talking about bowls. So rule out NO, Bahamas, Hawaii, and Boca if that is the case.

So I'd assume that leaves Cure or Bham being the ones we're most listed in maybe Camelia. What is 2nd/3rd best paying bowl for us? Indy looks like that's UTSA's

He apparently ruled out Bham also. I'm guessing Cure, Gasparilla or Hawaii. With leaving the conference the bowl payout isn't really going to matter, we'll get reimbursed for expenses plus the standard bowl participant share. The majority will go to the conference. At least that's my understanding of how it works during the transition.

RE: UAB Bowl Projections (updated - 11/23)
Just looking at dates, I would guess we lobby for Cure (Orlando, 12/17) or Hawaii (12/17) or Gasparilla (12/23) which would make sense to avoid the basketball game. Can’t imagine our team wants Bham or Montgomery.

I would love Hawaii if it’s on the 17th. Relatively quick 5 hour direct flight for me, and cheap via Southwest. Beautiful place for the team to get to travel to - for many of them a once in a lifetime trip!
