RE: AAC Championship Game Tickets
My wife and I, my daughter and son-in-law, and sister are season tickets holders. We also purchase 1 additional ticket so that we five can spread out a little bit. We also purchase a tailgate spot. So for those 6 tickets and a tailgate spot, the total will be $491.50 for the championship game. My sister will be out of town that day and can’t make the game. So we wish to purchase just 4 tickets. The tailgate spot is $100 for this ONE game. It’s $300 for the season. I’m sure that many of you can just handle the extra $135 and not miss it, but for us to spend $500 for 1 game, a month before Christmas, is a big hit to our budget. I probably could get my money back on the two unneeded tickets, but I really don’t want to go through the hassle of trying to sell them, if I can just not get them. I certainly don’t want to just eat them. In addition I just payed to renew those 6 season tickets and the tailgate spot for next year.

I hope this explains why I’m wanting to reduce my tickets for this game.

Tailgate spot is $100 for this one game? Must be an off campus vendor that jacked the price way up??

I was very surprised by that cost too, but that’s what UC is charging…University Garage same as it has been all year. Seriously considering not getting it, but the other people we tailgate with are getting theirs, so….

I 1000% understand. You have to understand their side too. If you are giving up two seats, I can’t imagine they’ll give you much trouble. I know it’s frustrating.

Season ticket holders have been able to resell their tickets for up to double face value all season (especially to SMU). So I don't expect it would be any different for this game. Stubhub is linked into the ticket office, so it's very simple to list them. I wouldn't be surprised with selling 2 of your tickets, you'll end up out of pocket about $250 total. You'll be better off reselling the 2 than reducing your 6 tickets to 4 (and giving the profit to the university). That said, UC would thank you for giving them back and letting them resell them for more!

RE: AAC Championship Game Tickets
An update….I finally got through to someone and got it handled, but….

I must have called the ticket office numbers a dozen times over 2 days. Left five messages for someone to call back. Never got a call back. So, I went online and got the phone numbers for others in the athletic department that work with tickets. Called the assistant AD for ticket sales, had to leave a message. Called the assistant to the assistant and actually was able to talk with a live person that got it handled for me. I secured 4 tickets and a tailgate spot

I asked why the tailgate spot was so expensive….$100 for that game alone vs $300 for the whole season? Was told that $100 was the price they always charge for someone wanting a single game tailgate spot. I expressed my opinion that was not fair to people who had already spent money for season tickets and tailgate spots for the whole year. I asked that my opinion be considered in the future and was told that it would be discussed.

My opinion is that I would be willing to pay a little more for a seasons tailgate spot upfront, if I was then not charged anymore when they made it to the championship game at the Nip. If they don’t make it the university still keeps the extra money.

I also expressed that they should upgrade the computer system and allow season ticket holders to change their seat allocation downward online for games such as this, especially if they are unable to staff the ticket office to a point where it needs to be in order to service their customers.

RE: AAC Championship Game Tickets
When do tickets go on sale for non season ticket holders? Or did I miss my opportunity?

Uc ticket office appears to have sold out.

Well i believe houston is alloted some. They may not sell all theirs and therefore could potentially be more in a few days. Otherwise im thinking stub hub is your best bet.

One of the local tv stations said it was already a sellout.

I looked at 6 pm yesterday out of curiosity and they were sold out then.

RE: AAC Championship Game Tickets
I happened to be on twitter a few minutes after they posted tickets were on sale and there was not much left. I'd guess somewhere around 7500 seats available. The first seats I chose were gone by the time I tried to check out, so I quickly grabbed the next best four available. Good luck to those of you trying to find something on the secondary market. Looks like tickets are going 2-3x face value there.

That few available makes me feel better about missing out. I eneded up finding some fairly decent seats on stub hub for $115 apiece.

Worth it for my son to get to see what hopefully is history and a good game.

RE: AAC Championship Game Tickets
Since this isn't a "home game" I'm wondering if UC students purchasing tickets will be disbursed throughout the stadium, in an effort by the AAC to create a more "neutral" field? I couldn't attend last year so maybe someone here can speak to that?

Selfishly, I hope we have a mostly dedicated student section in that south end zone. I understand the American not having a dedicated championship game site. These schools are widely disbursed and many have low attendance. Since hosting is earned, with it should come the opportunity to sell out the entire venue and allocate seat locations for a home field advantage.

I could be mistaken, but i got tickets the minute they became available and selected individual seats. there were no tickets available in the normal student sections. So hopefully this means there will still be the regular student sections

I have two sons at UC. Both were independently able to get through at noon on Saturday to buy a ticket. Limit 1/customer, $10 each
I can only assume that means student section, since no prescribed seat numbers were given

Excellent; and a great price for students, as it should be. The AAC looks much bigger and better with a full stadium for the CCG and a national television audience.

Reselling a ticket is stupid easy. What world are you in where the extra $135 is big blow to your budget but your time an effort isn't worth flipping a ticket for $100+ ?

Website asked if I wanted more tickets. I thought about it but decided that the tickets should be left so other UC fans could attend at face.
