UC defense 2022 edition
Will be interested to see how this defense progresses in the spring & then summer camp. How many 4th & 5th year seniors decide to return for another curtain call.

In 2022, I think they will be good, but not dominant like this year or last. Not having Sauce locking down entire side of field will be the difference. There could be a recruit who proves me wrong, but Sauce is a special player.

Sauce is the biggest loss but our starting secondary is outstanding all around and only Bush returns. Most of our DL rotation is gone. We have recruited great and have a defensive oriented staff so I think it'll work out but it's impossible to project for next year.

Are Hicks or Cook eligible for another year?

Looking at the roster we have a lot of Freshmen & Soph DL guys who just need to gain experience. They probably would have gotten some experience this year, had it not been for the super seniors.

Some of these dudes have been playing on our defense so long I feel like their kids will be enrolling at UC next year. Will be a lot to replace.

I believe anyone besides Coby would be eligible due to the COVID year. It feels like in a rebuilding year there'd be fewer guys take advantage. I think the guys who did it this year did it to be a part of something special.

We should be strong on the offensive side with RB's & WR's. And on the Defensive side LB's will be strong and a lot of question marks.

Once I know what coaches will be here I’ll start thinking about what players will be here.

Our backup RBs have been strong but I don't know that I see a starter in the group if Ford leaves. Prater looks like an elite runner though and we return the entire ol besides McConnell

We lose both starting lbs, Thomas has looked good in limited playing time. Both snipers return but I think lb is actually one of our biggest question marks.

I think you keep Van Fossen at LB and move Pace to safety, that way you can get both players on the field together. Van Fossen and Thomas would be strong, along with another developing prospect.

I think Wright eventually becomes the #1 guy unless he gets moved to defense, which is a strong possibility.

After all the seniors were honored before the game I lamented on how much we would be loosing going into next year. I was brought back to reality by the guy sitting next to me when he said, "But that was Fickell's weakest recruiting class."

Don't dispair! Enjoy the run and worry anout next year when it happens.

Go Cats!
