Kent St. VS JMU Men’s Basketball on Monday at Noon
First game of the Naples Invitational. Out of all the teams in the tournament, Kent St. might be the most unknown. JMU is 4-0 with three wins over good mid major programs and a dominant whooping on a NAIA team in Carlow. Kent St. is 1-1 with a 14 point loss to a very good Xavier team, and a dominant whooping on a Carlow level team in Oberlin College.

Any live coverage of this tourney?
Edit: FloSports has the coverage. Terrible.
Except for those with FLO.

I root for a great game, but when it comes down to it I pull for my alma mater first.

Sorry but I can’t as I haven’t been able to catch either of their games and they’ve had a turnover of the majority of the roster. Coach Sendy does a tremendous job revamping the roster every year, getting them to gel, getting the most out of what he has and salvaging seasons that could easily get derailed and end up winning his usual 20+ games. But as of today what they have still needs to be figured out, chemistry developed and who will step up and take big shots and carry the team won’t be developed for a few more games. They’ve only played 2 games, one a 14 point loss at Xavier that they led at halftime and then fell asleep in the second half, the other a blowout over D3 Oberlin. So playing a typically strong program (Xavier) game 1 wasn’t a tell tale sign because it usually take through the holidays to figure out the rotation and shorten the bench, while game 2 was clearing the bench in a blowout and some guys saw more time than they will the rest of the season combined. KSU is like JMU in that they run with a smaller lineup 3-4 guards at times, and will only have a couple taller kids in the rotation, and 2 of the 3 are very slight of frame.

FYI
Xavier undefeated, and beat a ranked #19 Ohio State by 6. Kent might be real good.

Will also be interesting to see how we handle a mid-day game. The Dukes will be very focused and they're hungry. From when I looked through the lineup last week, this is also basically the championship game. No one else in the invitational will be tougher than Kent St (again, it's early in the season, so that could have changed quickly), so get past the game tomorrow and then roll up a couple more wins leading up to FAU. This non-conference schedule is very well made to add up a bunch of wins in the 100-170 range. Any single game won't be that impressive, but rack up the wins and it will be a solid resume.

RE: Kent St. VS JMU Men’s Basketball on Monday at Noon
The Dukes flew down to Florida early so they should have no problem acclimating to the noon start tomorrow. The gym is similar to a middle school setup and there won’t be any more atmosphere than a scrimmage game unfortunately. Strangest MTE tourney site I’ve ever seen in College Hoops, but at least the beachy weather has been nice today after a windy yesterday.
Need at least 2 wins in this tourney to keep postseason hopes strong.

If you're down there for the games, Harold's Place has awesome burgers. It's a big tiki bar that overlooks a pool. It's behind the Gulf Coast Inn.

What confuses me a bit is the FloSports splash page for this seemed to imply the tourney was linked to the CAA and Big East, but there is only one CAA team, and no big east ones participating.
Did Flo sucker the Big East into streaming their other bball games there?

RE: Kent St. VS JMU Men’s Basketball on Monday at Noon
It looks like Kent State has one tall, lanky rim protector. Other than that, the Dukes don’t have anything to worry about on the interior. Perhaps this is the first game JMU doesn’t have to double the post and the guards can be like bees on honey around the perimeter.
Looking forward to some Turkey week hoops on the Gulf Coast.
