RE: Conference Championship Question
Really cool story going on at UTSA. Apparently the confernece sets pricing for tickets and students must pay $5 to attend the CUSA championship game. UTSA boosters and alumni are not having that have already donated money (still ongoing) to ensure students get in free and have transportation to the game.

Id say the 70,075 WKU played in front of in East Lansing will be hard to top but I hope you do it!

We did play in front of 70k @ Michigan State earlier in the season. Maybe the Dome makes each person count twice, idk.

I think having a dome probably adds to the decibel level but yeah i don't think it will be close to Michigan St in a real college stadium.

This is beyond silly. Bylaws state the team with the overall best record will host the CG. And if you're CUSA, you want the game in San Antonio in front of a possible sellout crowd regardless if UTSA is leaving the conference. CUSA should want an exciting well attended CG on TV, looks for the conference from a national perspective.

Beyond silly, no. The conference had changed rules in the past. Reasonable question.

It's loud in the Dome. Will Hall told Bill Clark it was louder than when they played @Alabama. Press has stated that press box was shaking.

I don't and won't doubt any of those statements. I am not sure Bammers would be at the top of the game vs a team that is going through a terrible season and hence that comparison with Bama might be apples to oranges but press box shaking is probably a good measure of noise level and vibration. While its a 30 year old structure i am sure the city of SA is taking good care of it. Glad you guys are having a great season. Any plans for an on campus stadium for you guys?

No not really. The focus is on a basketball facility which is in the works. Regarding football, everyone loves the Dome. We are rebranding as SAN ANTONIOs team so it makes sense to keep it centrally located. What a lot ppl dont know is that UTSA has a growing downtown campus and students live close to the dome. It should increase going forward. Also, kids get bussed to the game and we have no issues with students attending. Finally, have you ever been to South Texas? Its 90-100 degrees into the fall. I dont think anyone wants to bake and be drenched in sweat in an open stadium. I surely dont.

At 140 decibals, its really unsafe. Our peak is the equivalent of standing near the stage of a loud rock concert

Marshall and Western both better be ready for UTSA. That's a good solid team, top to bottom.

I seriously doubt the 22 to 25k is going to be louder than the 70k Western played in front of at Mich. St.

Unless CUSA has changed it since Western lasted hosted, students dont get in free and this is another ticket every fan will have to buy. Not at the $15 "special" but $40 each ticket. I believe that's what it cost when Western hosted in 2016

With this game being played on a Friday...25k will probably be a max. If students dont get in free more like 20k

Guess I should have read the next post....

the conference should made this standard because it wasnt that way when Western hosted. I'm fairly sure it cost the GA ticket price of $30 and someone stepped up and bought 2,000.

I do think Western cheated and didnt count after that 2k number because there was more like 6k in students at that game. I also believe its why it looked like 20k (I'm a fairly good at judging Western's attendance) and the announced was only 16k. The gate belongs to CUSA and not the host school.

Yep, probably the loudest 15k you'll ever hear. You'll need earmuffs!

RE: Conference Championship Question
UTSA has already raised $60,000 towards paying for students to get in. 3 times the $20,000 they were hoping for.

Tickets went in sale at 2pm today and they’ve sold close to 25,000 seats already. They’ll open the upper deck for sale by Thanksgiving. 45,000 plus should be the goal right now.
