The coach for Alabama A&M, Dylan Howard, played for UAB and was part of NCAA Tournament teams in 1986 and 1987.

I believe Howard and Andy Kennedy played together at UAB, and now will coach against each other this afternoon.

UAB fans should be at the UAB-Alabama A&M game Sunday, but if you can’t, be sure to watch the game on ESPN+. Mo Finley makes his debut as color analyst. you have an alumnus coaching UAB, an alumnus coaching Alabama A&M, an alumnus as a radio analyst and an alumnus as a TV analyst.

Buffen getting boy-ed by A&M. He's had at least two shots blocked already, had a pass stolen, and gotten scored on on the offensive end.

Hopefully this is the game that jump starts Jamal for the rest of the year since he is shooting lights out today. Also, I know starter minutes don't mean much with the roster that we have but I wouldn't mind seeing Leblanc start over Buffen

Pretty lackluster uninspiring performance so far. Not what I was hoping for after yesterday.

Didn’t get to watch today, but looks like we turned it on in the second half. If I had to guess, the team was slumping a little bit from the disappointment of the USC game in the first half. Good to see them shake it off and take care of business.

Yeah the first half was bad. I couldn’t watch after the first half, we must have completely dominated

UAB went on a 17-2 run from 6 minutes left in the first half to a minute or two into the second half. Then went on a 24-2 run from about 5 minutes into to the second half to about 7 minutes left in the game. Consequently UAB led 70-35 with 6 minutes left in the game.

Halftime score was 30-20, and final was 86-41.

As coach stated, defense was good for the entire 40 minutes. We shot the ball much better in the second half.

I was very pleased to see Jamal Johnson go 5-8 on threes this afternoon. UAB shot 13-26 (50%) from three.

On the flip side, UAB turned the ball over 17 times this afternoon. Just about everybody had at least one turnover, but Jelly had 4.

That’s three straight games with four turnovers for Jelly. As long as he’s producing otherwise, that number is something we can live with. When combined with 4-16 shooting, it’s really tough to swallow.

RE: Alabama A&M
I didn’t attend any games last season, so this is all new to me. Ertel plays his heart out the entire time, on both sides of the ball. He has a nice stroke on his shots. Jackson is an athlete, just like Lovan. Lovan still doesn’t look 100% to me.

Walker is the real deal (8 assists), but I really like Locure as well. Locure is as smooth as silk out on the court. He made a very heads-up play on his alley-oop pass to Jemison.

Jemison is one of the vocal leaders, and had a nice game today - 7 points, 11 rebounds, and 2 blocks. I actually thought he had more rebounds than 11.

I haven’t given up on Buffen, but you need to do better than 2-8 from the field against a team like AA&M. Fortunately his free throws were dropping.

LeBlanc had a nice game with 4 points and 10 rebounds. I like his upside.

The bench is deep. Just wish the front court looked better.
