RE: AAC Bowls
If we are what we think we are we show up for 4 qtrs the next 3 weeks. If we don’t, we are not what we thought we are - despite the miracle of South Bend.

IMO only conceited conservatism can stop us. The same we have seen the last 3 weeks.

RE: AAC Bowls
Memphis has to win another game before they can even start worrying about which bowl they are going to complain about.

RE: AAC Bowls
There are 42 bowls.

84 teams have won 6 games (Hawaii 6-7)

That would mean everyone gets a trophy game.

AAC 7
ACC 10
B12 7
B10 9
CUSA 8
INDY 4
MAC 8
MW 8
P12 6
SEC 13
SB 4

SEC 13
SB 4

I'm not interested enough to investigate who is correct, but Stew Mandel's updated bowl projections say differently:

Quote: • We finished with 83 bowl-eligible teams for 82 spots. One 6-6 team will get left home. It’s usually a MAC team. I went with Ball State.

My original source said 42 but https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021–22_NC...bowl_games
Season: 2021
Bowl games: December 17, 2021 – January 10, 2022
Number of bowls: 43

My count of 84 included HA at 6-7. Perhaps that is the difference vs Mandel 83?

RE: AAC Bowls
43 bowls. Most of which change names of sponsors every couple years because they lose $$$. Most of which also lose $$ for the schools.

I get that channels need content but come on.

66% of all FBS schools go to a bowl game. Would be like March Madness having a field of about 230. Hang a banner.

UH taking Birmingham Bowl. Had we lost that likely would have been our bowl.

That was my fear that (thankfully) wasn't to happen after the 3rd quarter fireworks by our offense yesterday. Imagine what a downer that would have been at 12-1?

Who knows what next years holds for our Bearcats in the American but it's exciting to think about that Big XII bowl lineup that awaits in 2023.

At least it's in a nice, new stadium and not that dump Legion Field.

They get to play Auburn. That’s a nice bowl opponent.

Tell you what, while the actual bowls kinda suck, with the exception of Tulsa playing ODU, the American landed some damn impressive opponents for the bowls - Florida, Auburn, BC, Virginia, and Hawaii.

Thet isn’t a bad slate for teams that finish 2 through 6.

The American for all its faults ended up a pretty decent football conference with it’s top team being better than what the PAC-12 keeps putting out there. The upper part of the league was always good but was dragged down by the bottom feeders.

The Big XII is going to be battle every week but the American probably doesn’t get the credit it deserves for being a good football league.

I’ll put big money on the Big12 you think you are joining won’t exist in few years

Seems like an ambigious bet. I'll put money on a lot of conferences not being what we think them to be in a few years.

Unless youre saying the entire conference will just dissolve. Because texas and oklahoma are leaving. I dont remember the last time texas was relevant. Oklahoma is a solid school but all big 12 additions are solid. More than make up for that

I’ll bet you are still in the AAC desperately wishing SMU was with us in the conference that allegedly won’t exist in a few years.

It seems like it's just a better version of the current AAC. A bunch of teams no one else wants, but are still pretty solid. Where is everyone going?
