Rowdy Football.

With everything that has happened in the last two years the SBC fanbases definitely are rowdy. A reputation like that could both hurt and help, depending on the type of rowdy.

Yeah I'd say it was about 30-40% BYU fans. Still a lot. Unfortunately the game fell on Thanksgiving break and all the students left. The student section is what prevented the true sellout.

There's also players that report not seeing that happen and the fact that they were possibly egging it on.

Doesn't this type of stuff happen often in Statesboro though?

Throwing food at players?

No.

Stop trying to make something exist that doesn't. But thank you for your interest in a Georgia Southern game.

Didn't a baseball player get kicked off the team for throwing a water bottle at a cheerleader at a football game a few years ago?

Correction, he was not kicked off the team. What kind of program you think were running at GS.

Lol nowhere near 50% BYU fans. I’m not sure what burritos you’re talking about either?

BYU coach said the sideline got hit with multiple burritos.

We were showing southern hospitality throwing food, instead of eagle head discs like we do for App.

I hated hearing this, bc I wanted them to have a great experience & help sale playing games in the Boro.

Did one student possibly throw a burrito? Maybe, but nobody knows for sure. Was the BYU sideline being pelted by a rainstorm of burritos? No, not at all. I think BYU probably got a little more than they expected in the first half and I’m sure our students were giving them a hard time.

As for attendence, there were a lot of BYU fans there but it definitely wasn’t 50%. Maybe 30-35% as someone else said.

Yeah I'd say it was about 30-40% BYU fans. Still a lot. Unfortunately the game fell on Thanksgiving break and all the students left. The student section is what prevented the true sellout.

Hold on. So the burrito tossers were alumni?

No. The entire lower section behind the away bench is the student section. It holds around 6,500. It was just over half full. Was pretty disappointed by that, but again it was Thanksgiving break so a lot of students were back home.

As for the burrito, idk when or if it happened. What I can say is if any program is going to make something up just to play victim, it's BYU. I'll let you do the googling, but they've had a reputation for a while.

Also worth noting, every BYU fan I talked to before and after the game said they had a great time. Didn't hear a single complaint and was even thanked for having a 'hospitable fan base'.

No school is immune from rowdy fans, especially in today's society. Goons gonna be goons. Kids drinking at ball games get a little exuberant and anything can happen, I know because I'm sure I was at times past.

I just find it hard to believe that BYU felt they were in a 'hostile' environment when that side of the stadium was overwhelmingly BYU fans. Or the fact that every single BYU fan I spoke to talked about what a great time they had. There's even a BYU fan on GSUF talking about us being 'class acts'.

Again, the burrito incident could have very well happened, but I'd bet my paycheck that this is a mountain being made out of a mole hill so that BYU can play victim as they love to do.

Maybe GS should have some class and move their students to the other side of the field.

Oh please...every fan base has dumb drunk students doing dumb drunk student things. I heard one team's fans run goalposts through a bus one time. I mean 20K+ plus people and five define a fan base?

Is Tenn going to shut its program down after one incident? Not defending the ALLEDGED burrito throwing but SOME of their players were major crap talkers.

GSU posters until you have students come to the game just STFU lol.

As far as the game, better than expected, would like to have seen a 100% Ransom as I think we would have had a chance to win. Those option plays were just not working with the 3rd and 4th string QB's

This, it is just petty message board crap from weirdo fanatics. People with no life throwing stones in glass houses when it comes to fan behavior.

That's the BYU way. Goad and goad and when someone reacts, play victim.

But to your point, yes every fan base has dumb fans, especially students. Again, I just find it hard to believe that all of these BYU fans said they had a great time yet their coach is claiming our half empty student section was too hostile.
