If URI makes the field I have a feeling the winner of their first round game heads to JMU.

Beat Nova in the quarters, SHSU in the semis, NDSU for their first loss in Frisco then sail away from the FCS forever.

URI against one of the Southern Conference teams makes sense in the 2nd Round.

NDSU sounds like it's a different team on the road. They might lose to Montana State in Bozeman. Better them than us.

In all reality if we were to clean things up and play our best football in the playoffs, I'd love a little revenge against Sam Houston and North Dakota State on our way to the Sun Belt.

If URI makes the field and wins their 1st round game, then they will be @ a seed 2nd round. Unless ETSU is seeded, they won’t be playong a So-Con 2nd round.

For sure. And our loss is two a one-loss Nova while the Bison’s loss is a two-loss SDSU. I just think the committee’s MVFC bias will give the Bison a higher seed.

I would love to be wrong, though. My ideal scenario is us and Nova as the 2/3 in some order.

I'm not sure we will. The argument Kevin put forward is the additional FCS win JMU has. I see the situation as a coin flip, depending how the committee looks at things.

Kevin's scenario is best case. Worst case we get the 3 and NDSU gets the 2. I'd prefer we get the 4 over the 3.

Seeds 2 thru 4 can be debated and shuffled a lot of ways, and I think it simply comes down to the votes. I'm not optimistic about the URI AD helping us, but we'll see.

Different committee but Michigan was ranked ahead of Michigan State this week despite the head of head. Of course, Michigan State did everything they could today to prove the committee was correct

FWIW, here are the current FCS committee members.

NDSU AD is there thru 2025, guess they plan on being FCS a while.
In theory, he isn't allowed to be in the room when his team is discussed, but committee members always seem to get favorable seeding results.
