Exclamation Super 7 Championship
The Super 7 Championship games will be held at Protective Stadium on Dec. 1-3. The C-USA championship game will be held on Dec. 3. I wonder how it will play out.

RE: Super 7 Championship
I will guess that UAB as primary tenant would have priority and the Super Six game(s) on Friday would probably move to Legion Field and something would be done to make AHSAA whole on it. I wonder if there is perhaps even a clause in the contract regarding that possibility. Perhaps after Saturday someone in media asks that question.

I fail to see a conflict with those dates.

RE: Super 7 Championship
The C-USA football championship has been moved to Friday, Dec. 3 at 6 pm CT on CBSSN.

The AHSAA has two Super 7 games scheduled for Dec. 3 at Protective:
— 11 am, 4A championship
— 7 pm, 6A championship.

There is a conflict if UAB hosts the C-USA game.

Off-topic, but former UAB QB Jonathan Perry is the OC of Baltimore (MD) City College High School. His team is in the Class 3A quarterfinals this Friday against Linganore HS. I'm planning on heading up for the game.

RE: Super 7 Championship
...play three on the 1st, three on the 2nd;

It is noted the C-USA Championship is at 6 pm central on the 3rd (Friday); play the Class 7 game either early afternoon (say, 1 PM) or even move to the 4th - probably less likely...

heck, they used to play 'doubleheaders' at LF quite a bit.... in fact, I remember we played the first of two games there one time - I think AAMU had a game that night (can't remember who we played, but we lost, because I remember saying to some AAMU fans "hope y'all do better in there than we did today") ...lest we conjure up the Spirit of Certificates Past, the 'SEC teams' in the state used to play DHs there a good bit, and I know High Schools used to double up on occasion...

Heck, if they schedule it right, you could have the two crowds hang out for both games... I'd be down with watching the 7A game prior to the UAB Championship game, even for a few $$$ more...

Just send the Super 7 to Mobile. No worries of us needing our stadium that weekend.

Save some time and just give the 7A trophy to the winner of the Hoover-Thompson game this Friday. That's the real title game anyway.

...it's weird they don't play the 7A championship last, as the 'grand finale'... why not play 3, 3, then the 7A, which should have roughly the same attendance as some of the 'lower level' games combined? (although some of those 'lower tier' teams close down their whole town and head to the game...)

...and the Central-Phoenix City / Auburn winner will be a pretty stout opponent for either of the 'north' teams... whoever ends up in the finale, it should be a great game...

Just a little Bham Metro smack. "North" really means Birmingham Metro now since Huntsville isn't very competitive anymore, at least in 7A. Took a minor miracle for Thompson to beat Auburn last year. It does seem like the same four schools keep ending up in the Semis.

I agree about the 7A game. Should be the finale.

I'll never understand why they don't flip the brackets for the semifinals in high school. It makes a little more sense in football, but I still feel like you could make it work for a single game having more travel than normal for team. In other sports where the teams are all in one location it's really dumb.

They rotate the games each year to give each class a shot at those prime times.

Is BHM scheduled to host for the next few years or will it rotate like it did between AU and UA??? I’d like to see it shared around the state, back to the Cramton Bowl, ASU, South, Troy, Jax St, not sure if the A&M stadium is currently worth it, is Samford big enough to hold the bigger 7A crowds???

It's still rotating.

...not certain, but I think it will continue to 'rotate'... B'ham just got added to the 'rotation', which is cool... UA/AU isn't about to give up the 'free tour of the facilities for prospective recruits' every (now) third season... hopefully Protective will help push a few more recruits our way...

...and not sure if Samford would be big enough... not sure as to their capacity, but it's just sideline-sideline seating... not to disparage them, but it's sort of a 'high school' arrangement... nice setup tho... I went to a gob of games out there in the late 80's early 90's - had a few friends in school there, one threw shot put for their track team... a few years after he graduated, we worked a few meets as 'judges' - or I guess 'measurers'? I held the tape at the baseline and some other dude would walk out to the spot for distance...

Let’s face it, the two A’s don’t need help in recruiting. But Troy, South and UAB might get a few guys out of it. I wonder if AU and UA even really want to host, just because of the hassle of it for them.
