Proposed Law: Blind Trusts for elected officials
IMHO, ALL elected officials to the U.S. government - House of Reps, Senate and Presidency must surrender all assets into blind trusts to managed by investment professionals. Any attempts by the elected officials to figure out who is managing their money and to attempt to influence them will result in immediate forfeiture of their assets. I'm sick and tired of seeing elected officials do insider trading with zero penalties.

Quote:Rep. Kim Schrier, D-Wash., was more than two months late in disclosing the purchase of half a million dollars worth of stock in Apple Inc., according to recent disclosure filings.

While this story may be an "innocent oversight", this recurring theme occurs way to frequently. Must have the dumbest bunch of fvckers in our gov't...

While I don't disagree with you, the Brandon administration has clearly shown how to circumvent such laws. Let's be honest, do we really think crackhead Hunter is the only one getting rich off his million dollar crayola art being sold to "anonymous" individuals? Politicians on both sides of the aisle have mastered the art of money laundering and bribery. The typical American politician makes mafia business look squeaky clean in comparison.

I'm an employee of a Fortune 500 company and I'm required annually to take a training course on insider trading. The course explains why it's wrong, that it's illegal and is grounds for termination. I'm not allowed to talk about projects I'm working on even with family. I'm required to immediately report any information I hear from coworkers or information I might inadvertently share with others.

Why is my punishment loss of a job and prison time but hers is nothing more than a mention in an article.

You are not part of the protected elite. Orwell wrote that "all animals are created equal, but some are more equal than others." That holds true for most politicians in this country, particularly those represented by a donkey.

They actually have too much power.. They don't have term limits. They make more than most people in this country while saddling the country with harsh taxes and debt for their bad decisions. Then they get to vote to give themselves a pay raise, which is not from a profit the US has made, it's another bump in taxes. They've blew all our retirement money they take out of our checks that is to be reserved for us, but they get nice retirement with a check after they leave office.

Every year that the US is in debt, none of those clowns should be allowed to run for another term. Or set term limits on them for 2 terms until we're out of debt.
