As a IA program its fine to schedule a IAA from time to time. What I find unacceptable is playing nonscholarship programs.

Marshall and Morehead State have played 45 times in football but the last time was in 1994. The AD at Morehead ask us to suspend the game until they got more competitive. The last 4 games Marshall had won by 59, 42, 56 and 64 points. The game was never picked back up.

Disagree. As an infant to FBS you want as many wins as possible early on. Keep the cupcakes early on if they are already inked.

Cupcakes are fine. Playing nonscholarship schools isn't. That would have been like Appy playing Davidson in your 1st 2 years of transition. Might as well be playing the local HS down the road. Ive seen plenty of HS that could beat Morehead State, Presbyterian, Davidson and Butler in football.

Cupcakes are cupcakes imo, I don't like any of them and neither does anyone else on our board but there'll probably always be one. What difference does it really make whether we beat Morehead by 58 or Maine by 48?

In FCS, no difference. In FBS, you can’t use games against non-scholarship or reduced-scholarship teams to be bowl eligible.

B 12.... BINGO Sister Mary

Also, it just doesn't reflect well on the program or conference. Beating Morehead State by 49 or beating Maine by 35 is a different perspective. The student athlete that Maine is going to have is a lot more competitive than the nonscholarship athlete that Davidson or Morehead State gets.

I don't follow the playoffs enough to know this but has the Pioneer League had anyone make it past the 2nd round since they got an auto bid. If I had to guess I would say no.
