How do you feel Chris Victor did recruiting wise after taking over for Jim Hayford?

Is Matt Figger's roster mass exodus a red flag? Or do you think he has sufficiently restocked the roster for 2022-23?

After a horrendous first season, do you think Lamar could be a surprise with Alvin Brooks' 2022-23 recruiting class?

Are Southern Utah's Todd Simon and UT Arlington's Greg Young ready for the level of competition in the WAC?

The SBC was rated the same as the WAC last year. The average SBC rating has been consistent over the last nine years since UTA joined. UTA had the third most conference wins over that stretch. Greg Young was on staff all nine years.

He will be just fine.

Last year the WAC had 5 teams rated higher than the Sunbelts #1 team…yes, it will be a step up for UTA.

Dang I had to look that up because I couldnt believe it but wow. Granted I only counted 4, but to his overall point its crazy to me that yall had 4 teams rated higher than us but only ranked two spots higher as a conference.

The WAC has some really good teams but also had teams dragging down the conference NET. The average put the WAC only two spots ahead of the SBC. But it is much tougher to win the WAC than the SBC. NMSU usually sets a high bar. And last season NMSU put a stamp on a good year with a victory over UCONN.

I think UTA will adjust quickly to the WAC but even with NMSU and SHSU leaving, the remaining schools will be a gauntlet for UTA and SUU to win the conference.

Yeah this is why I was excited to join the WAC, because I think this is a good basketball conference . We will lose a lot when NMSU leaves, but I think we will still be a good league. We(UTA) will have to improve quite a bit to compete in the WAC, but I think we will.

And we have the 27th Tarleton commit and I’m guessing not the last.

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FXPJ8E8XwAIlIKv.jpg

Shemar Smith played two years at Central Oklahoma and one year at East Central Okla. Signed with Nebraska-Omaha then decomitted and signed with Tarleton. 6’7” 215 lbs. 2 years remaining.

This wasn't the 2013 WAC Championship between NMSU and UTA but it's a segment of a game from that season almost 10 years ago. NMSU's Senior Night and final home game of the season against UTA...

Well, it must be frustrating to walk into practice and see 20 other guys. Then realize only one or two players of BCG's 2022 class actually have guaranteed scholarships and the rest are battling for the remaining scholarship slots. A game of musical chairs to see which players are stuck paying their own way.

Which means they quit and walk away (or stay) with a lowered sense of entitlement. All good stuff.

So are they just going to drop all the courses they registered for when the final roster comes out? It's like y'all aren't even pretending anymore on the student-athlete thing.

COREYOUN RUSHIN has committed to Tarleton. He has one year remaining and is transferring from Chicago State.

Maybe we will post a roster soon so we know who’s on the team. Mens BB is the only fall sport which hasn’t posted a roster.

Yup, BCG has a ridiculous number of commitments with very few actual signees. At some point he will need to put out an "official" roster.

What a bunch of Baloney.

Last year we started with 19 and ended with 15 (dismissals)

So far, roughly 10-12 have either been dismissed, or sent to Ranger/Grayson, etc. to develop.

Roster currently sitting at 17, with a few more additions/subtractions likely.

All completely normal.

Returnees
Shakur Daniel
Luke Winslow
Shamir Bogues
Freddy Hicks
Noah McDavid
Javontae Hopkins

Additions (Commits)
Jalen Thomas
LaJae Jones
Coreyoun Rushin
Rod Brown
KiAndre Gaddy
Jordan "Tiger" Booker
Lue Williams
GianFranco "Pipo" Grafals
Jakorie Smith
Garry Clark
Mambourou Mara
