The bolded part above makes me very sad, especially for him.
I wouldn’t jump to that conclusion. The advancement made in these surgeries have turned these types of injuries from instant career enders to some performing even better after the injury. Take Frank Gore or Jamaal Charles for example. Frank tore both ACLs in college and then proceeded to have one of the longest careers for a RB in his generation of the league. Jamaal Charles came back from an ACL injury in 2011 to become one of the best backs in the league from 2012 to 2014.
It’s all about how the procedure was performed and how vigilant the player is in their rehab. And if there is one guy I would bet on that will do everything in their power to come back even better, it’s Jason.

RE: Jason Henderson
When he heals up and recovers, he needs to go pro the first chance he gets. Go make his money. Leave our circus act football team behind. Hes shown and given enough to this program. He deserves it.

I don't think that anyone has jumped to the conclusion that he won't return to playing football Monarchist. All I mentioned in that regard was that I thought it would be hard for him to return as the player he was prior to the injury. I'll stand by that. Whether he does return to that level or not - it will be hard (but possible). Some make a full or nearly full recovery and others don't make as much of a recovery. Our own Jason Wade isn't the same player that he was prior to his two injuries. It happens sometimes. I read a few months ago about a young minor league pitcher - I believe in the Met's system - that had Tommy John surgery, recovered, pitched, and developed pain in the same elbow the year after coming back which again shut him down. Ultimately, he is having the Tommy John surgery redone in hopes of getting his career back on track. Athletes go through a lot in dealing with injuries. I'm sure that we all wish for the best of outcomes to happen for Jason.
I think in this day and age everyone is pretty knowledgeable of the advancements in knee, ankle, wrist, and elbow surgeries over what they used to be. Personally, I have a very close family member that has had major surgery done on two of those areas. I'm quite sure that decades ago, the outcome for her would have been much different.

RE: Jason Henderson
IIRC the popular wisdom was it took 2 years to fully recover. First year athlete plays with some concern for injuring himself, second year he's good to go.

Only one G5 player rated ahead of Henderson. Kid from Boise at 47.
Quite an honor.
Schlabach: Old Dominion linebacker Jason Henderson is another player from a Group of 5 program that probably isn't ranked high enough. He led the FBS in tackles (170) and tackles per game (14.2). Henderson also had 19.5 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks, five quarterback hurries and one forced fumble. He is the first Monarchs player to be honored on an All-America team. He is the first FBS player since Boston College's Luke Kuechly in 2010-11 to lead the country in tackles in consecutive seasons; Henderson had 186 stops in 2022.
