A look at stadiums
I've shared these videos before. It's an Australian guy who cover stadiums. Lots of Dad jokes an delightful corniness. Nothing too serious.

Anyway, with the new members, I also wanted to include the C-USA video. He hasn't done one for the CAA yet (although he eventually will since he has already done FCS conferences MVFC, Ivy, and Pioneer, and I think the SWAC).

If you want to rank all 14 stadiums, have at it. Regardless, I thought it might be fun to see some views of what the conference has to offer. And i will try to add in JMU's as soon as the guy does his CAA video.

Southern Miss 2:17
Marshall 4:55
Old Dominon 7:48

Feel free to add pictures of JMU's stadium and updated pictures of Old Dominion's.

Yeah he showed a picture of Troy's new stadium but the video portion is outdated. Still a fun video though

RE: A look at stadiums
I dream of the day when we can expand the home side to match the away side. Doesn't even need an upper deck, just match the lower level. That and a new press-box.

But we are quite far away from either of those happening.

I'm pretty sure he used Google Earth/Street View. That stuff is pretty outdated. The Google Maps view of App State has Winkler Hall stilled there. Winkler Hall was imploded in 2014..

Regardless, I love the guy's efforts. His videos cover all kinds of sports' stadiums from all over the world.

I never understood why the new upper stands included that hook around. Just seems really odd.

Nothing not to like about your stadium. It looks “big time.” Curious to see how and where they would expand it if necessary.

Thanks, although the old side is a bit of an eyesore to us. We would really like to see them complete it, but according to the admin they are not anticipating that to happen anytime soon.
If we are selling out every game, that would certainly speed up that timeline.
Here is a really old video showing the different phases. There is a better rendering somewhere out there, but this was one of the first. The home side doesn't show the hook at the top or the endzone/sideline connection. Also the plan is to make the upper deck in the endzone match the sidelines, so that is different. No idea if that will ever happen, but it's still cool to see what it could look like.

RE: A look at stadiums
I hate when projects are done in phases. The second phase may get done, but the third and fourth rarely, if ever, see the light of day. Back in 1978, when Kidd Brewer (then Conrad Stadium) was expanded on the west side, the next phase was to construct stands to mirror it on the east side to bring seating capacity to 24,000. They even put up billboards showing the finished product. It wasn't until 2008 when the upper deck was added to the east side, and as you know, it doesn't look anything like the west stands, due to building code changes and the like.

GS finally has plans to update the home side along with a new basketball arena. 3/4 of GS's stadium is legit the home side is an eyesore. Once the home side is done it will be just as nice as any stadium in the country, then it is just opinion and preference. I prefer the sunken field set up and the concrete look of our visitor stands over metal. I am glad the first expansion was and the next one will be a major one. Hard for some of those stadiums to overcome the Frankenstein small additions and how they turned out.
My hope is we look more like a nicer Colorado State-type look.

I'm aware of the new basketball arena (which is going to look great) but haven't heard a thing about any home side expansions for the football stadium.

As far as the sunken look...it makes the stadium look much smaller than it is. But that's never going away unless you build an entirely new stadium.

For those unaware, our stadium seats are essentially dug into the ground on the lower levels. There's no elevation off the ground and it makes it look smaller.
