We do. We don't play any other way. I believe we've been top 3 in the nation in TOs forced each of the three years of the AW Hamilton era. We didn't have the depth of this team any of those first three years either.

But for what it's worth, Iran Bennett will not play. They're not expecting the big man until second semester. Wichita State transfer Trevin Wade also hasn't played yet due to a concussion. His return is probably not too far down the road, but I don't know if he'll play Tuesday or not.

Jomaru Brown, our leading scorer from 2019-2020 miss all but four games last year and then was suspended to start this season. He's back, but his minutes have been limited as he works his way back into the rotation.

Looking forward to a great ball game, guys!

Recall attending a football playoff game with you guys many years ago. I think it was right before we lost to NDSU to start their run, although I might be wrong.

A fun trip.....

i think their concessions consisted of a dude under the goal post cooking hot dogs on a weber grill. I think our winning field goal almost knocked over his whole operation.

We've never had anyone grilling behind a goalpost. They usually have a grill tent set up as you come up the ramp to the main concourse, and there are more traditional concessions windows inside.

The entire visitors side of the stadium has been knocked down and rebuilt since that game so things look a bit different now.

I can remember that there was talk that EKU wanted to jump to FBS at some point. Is there still any talk of that?

What is the under/over? This thing could get crazy high into the triple digits for both teams. Your bigs better have their cardio in marathon shape because JMU doesn’t have any bigs. All athletic small ball players.
Are we going to see a game like Loyola Marymount of the early 90’s?

Oh wow, this will be fun then. As Hart said, we have tons of short, fast guys who attack on the defensive end like their lives depended on it. If everyone is healthy, we will go 10 deep and even our 11th, 12th and 13th players have skills. At least 7 of them can handle the ball, but we play so fast, it does sometimes get sloppy.

I haven't seen a game with both teams playing that style in a while. I'm excited.

Who knows what happens. Can the Dukes get another win while they are still trying to figure out starters and playing rotations?

Their coach has Virginia connections from when he coached at Hargrave Military academy. Some of his current players played there for post grad and he has a big guy that played at the Miller School just over Afton mountain. I’m eager to see if their other big is healthy enough to play. Iran Bennett started at Marshall and has transferred to E. Kentucky but missed almost all of last year. 6’9” and 335 lbs. That is a large human being. If he doesn’t play, they still have 2 shot blockers that can change how JMU scores. For ACC fans, one of the Hargrave guys is Braxton Beverly who is their PG after playing 4 years at NC State. He is now listed at the proper 5’10” apparently shrinking 2 inches since leaving the ACC. 03-lmfao

Get your 3 point counter out. These teams are not afraid to launch from downtown. E. Kentucky likes to call their games the most exciting 40 minutes in sports. We’ll see. Would be nice to see Ihenacho get on the floor so we can see the last part of the team and how things may fit together this year.

Big’un Iran Bennett

Dang! 6'10/322! Shaq! The good news is he has to sit out 5 of every 10 minutes to eat a couple of pizzas.

Excellent! Which section(s) are behind the visitor’s bench @ EKU? The arena’s seating chart doesn’t specify.

It's our primary topic of conversation. I'm pretty certain the only thing we're waiting on is a conference. My understanding is that if WKU had gone to the MAC, which came really close to happening, we were going to get the next invite to C-USA. The problem for us now is with WKU and MTSU staying, the conference needs to add western teams to balance out divisions. We may well be the school that would rightfully get the next invite, but we're located in the wrong part of the country.

We were also the runner up a few years ago for the spot that Coastal Carolina got in the Sun Belt.

Have fun, I wish I could be there in person. There is plenty of parking in the main arena lot. You won't have any trouble. It can be a little slow getting out sometimes.

Okay sweet. Do I need to get a parking pass or something or can I just park there?

You should be fine. I believe it still serves as a commuter study lot during the day, but you should just be able to pull in unless they changed something. How far away are you driving from? Have you been to EKU before?

RE: JMU @ E. Kentucky hoops
I now seen in your profile that you're from Louisville. I am both a Louisville native and resident myself. I'll probably catch the second half on ESPN+ after we get my two-year-old down for the night. Enjoy your visit. A couple of interesting facts about our arena:

-They broke ground on Alumni Coliseum (interior now known as McBrayer Arena) in 1962. They it during commencement ceremonies because then EKU President Dr. Robert Martin had brought in a professional acquaintance of his for the commencement address that year...then Vice President Lyndon Johnson. LBJ participated in the groundbreaking for the arena, and you can find a plaque inside marking the approximate spot.

-The arena officially opened in 1963 with a Colonel win over Louisville.

-The arched ceiling is made entirely of wood. It was a tech marvel at the time because no interior posts were needed, and the sight lines are great from everywhere in the arena. It makes it a terrible concert venue because the sound bounces around a lot, but even a half-full arena can get pretty loud. I heard that sometime in the 80s SI ranked it as one of the ten loudest arenas in college basketball or something. The ceiling is said to be the largest of its kind anywhere in the world.

-Whatever you see tonight won't be what it looks like for much longer. It's not publicly announced yet, but they are prepping for a MASSIVE renovation.
