SLU game info
1. They're best player Javonte Perkins got hurt in a scrimmage and will miss the season.
2. Jordan Nesbitt played a few minutes for us last season an he transferred there.
3. Travis Ford is their coach.
Good guards, not so good bigs ...
That's all I got. Heard we're 7 point favorites too. Anyone else '??

RE: SLU game info
St. Louis has won 5 games and lost none. Two were exhibition games. They have not played any team at our level and we have not played a team as good as them. They have pretty much blown every team they have played, out of the gym. Scores in their games are similar to our games.
This will be a very good test for our guys.

that is about all I know of them as well.
I'm looking forward to seeing how we respond.

Don't think they will be a problem...
But I do think it will be good for the younger guys to go up against more talented players. The schedule is actually setup very well for our current roster.

If you're looking at this conventionally/stats-wise, it should be a close game. I just don't see it. We win by 15+.

Jason Munz (Commercial Appeal) predicts - Memphis 81 St. Louis 59
If we take care of the ball then that's probably accurate. If we throw it away 15+ times then it could be interesting, because the Billikens have enough backcourt talent to take advantage of turnovers.

We need the 3D's (Duren, Deandre, and Dandridge) to not get into foul trouble. If Duren and Williams can play 25 minutes or more each, we will smoke them.

Honestly I think as long as one of Deandre\Bates can stay on the floor this team will be fine offensively. Don't think this team is going to struggle on defense at all...Need to rebound better but that should come with focus.

I think that keeping Duren on the floor will be the most important thing we can do to help us win games. He may not be our best player, but I think we will quickly see that he is our most important player.

We seemed to struggle with defensive rebounding some. However, I also noticed that a lot of the offensive rebounds NC Central got seemed to come after forced/contested shots late in the clock that resulted in the ball taking strange and unusual bounces off the rim or barely grazing the rim or unusually long rebounds.

I think he is important...
But we won games with Moussa on the bench during critical times last year...I think we can do the same this year. Are we better with Duren on the floor...Definitely...But I don't think he is the most important piece.

RE: SLU game info
St. Louis is really small: Kenpom: 76.3" (278 out of 358). They have rebounded pretty well though in their 3 games.
They are also very young: Kenpom: 1.07 years (332 out of 358). Despite being so young they have't really turned the ball over much, a little over 9 per game.
They have scored a lot of points in their first 3 game: averaging 103 ppg (3rd), thanks in part to Harris Stowe where they scored 127
They shoot the 3 ball pretty good: 41.9% (40th)
Starters:
- F: Terrence Hargrove: 6'4" Sophomore, 19 mpg, 6.7 ppg, 4.3 rpg
- F: Marten Linssen: 6'8" 240 lb Junior, 12 mpg, 5 ppg, 1 rpg
- G: Jordan Nesbitt: 6'6: 200 lb Freshman, 19 mpg, 12 ppg, 7 rpg
- G: Yuri Collins: 6' 180 lb Sophomore, 21 mpg, 10 ppg, 3 rpg, 9 apg
- G: Gibson Jimerson: 6'5" 200 lb, RS Freshman, 23 mpg, 19ppg
Subs:
- F: Francis Okoro: 6'9" 235 lb, Junior, 16 mpg, 11 ppg, 9 rpg
- F: Lassina Traore: 6'9" 215 lb, Freshman, 13 mpg, 9 ppg, 7 rpg
- G: DeAndre Jones: 5'11" 160 lb, Senior, 18 mpg, 5 ppg, 2 rpg, 2 apg
- G: Rashad Williams: 6'2" 185 lb, Junior, 18 mpg, 5 ppg, 3 apg
Kenpom has it 79-66 Tigers.

Kenpom has it 79-66 Tigers.
For comparison sake our starters go (give or take an inch, sizes from memory):
Alo 6' vs. 6' Collins
LQ 6'5" vs. 6'5" Jimerson
Bates 6'8" vs. 6'6 Nesbitt
DeAndre 6'9" vs. 6'4" Hargrove
Duren 6'10" vs. 6'8" Linssen
Overall we are bigger in the starting lineup. However, we seem to have a major advantage with our bench bringing in -
Minott 6'8"
Dandridge 6'9"
Timberlake 6'6"
Nolley 6'7"
Hardaway 6'5"

I wouldn't be surprised if they start Okuro instead of Hargrove but that makes their bench smaller.

If we actually win by 13 many will be disappointed.
Because we have two would be HS Seniors getting major minutes dominating good teams may take a little more into the season. And that is with five vets.
