UTEP fans calling another team dead weight?

I wouldn't call UTEP dead weight, but you have probably the historically worst football program in D1. and that basketball national championship was long ago.

I can’t decide if I love or hate CUSA scheduling this year. Not a lot of opportunities for signature wins, but tons of winnable games being scheduled.

I could see CUSA going 5-0 today.

I think calling NT basketball a dead weight is a bit of a stretch. We have had 2 really good coaches with success and 1 really bad one since 2006.

Johnny Jones 5 of last 6 years were 20+ win seasons. The other one was 18-14
Tony Benford Zero 20+ win seasons in 5 years. Yes, pathetic
Grant McCasland 3 of 4 seasons are 20+ win seasons and the other is 18-10 last year (short season) + 1 NCAA round of 32.

Just like any other CUSA program, success depends on the coaching hire. Benford's 5 years are the only bad ones out of the last 15.

Maybe not as huge an upset as I thought, Vegas only had Greeensboro by 2.

Nevertheless, tough win in OT in The Jersey Mikes classic in St Pete.

FIU now 4-1 after starting with the 7 point loss at Georgia.

Looks like Fridays UTSA/TAMUCC game got rescheduled to today? Not sure the back story but maybe a covid issue?

KenPom doesn't shake last year's games until sometime in January. Not a super useful metric during the first few months of the year.

Sounds about right. It’s been brutal to watch. It seems like the pieces are there but the offense is still hapless and it seems the defense has taken a big step back. Jones wasn’t there at the tournament the last 3 games due to having flu like symptoms. We’ll see if we rebound when he’s courtside or if we’re shopping for a new coach at the end of the season. A lot of fans are ready for a new direction and have been for a while, the numbers are definitely growing.

Rice dispatches Evansville 109-104 in 3OT.

Shouldn't have been that close/taken that long but will take it given that we were down 15 at one point in the second half.
