Hey clt, when the expansion happens what's the word on what the Administration will decide on? Take it to 30k or go for more?

Do they need to expand? If anything, everyone the AAC added needs to remove about 10,000 to 15,000 seats. Charlotte's 15,000 seat stadium is perfect. They couldn't sell out for Duke, they won't be selling out for Tulane, Tulsa, SMU, Navy, FAU, UAB, etc.

The only games they may sell out will be against App and ECU, and that's because App and ECU people will be there.

before covid 100% of the aac did over 15k

this includes tulane a tiny private school...and tulsa the smallest FBS school in the nation

do you realize how much of joke 15k is???? you maybe have a point if charlotte had a 25k stadium like Tulane, youd be the smallest in the conference and p5. it ties with Tulane but you are still in range

and i already responded to "they dont sell out 15k now".. everyone in the p6 does at least 15k attendance ..pre-covid there were like 2 who did sub 20k

all expansion is based on projected growth, you cant claim you want to be at the top of college athletics and then state you don't think you can do more than 15k attendance despite being in a large public school in a huge metro

From the leaked Draft Athletics Facilities Master Plan:

1. Phase I Expansion: 15,000 seats added, $65M
2. Indoor Practices Facility: $30M
3. Phase II Expansion: 15,000 seats added, $58M
   

That's my predicted order of priority.

Since the beginning with initial stadium construction the future decks were designed to be built in a lower and upper portions, so I'd assume that's still the plan. Since current seating is in a below grade bowl the lower decks would be built just over the top of existing concessions. I'd have to imagine that the plan now is to have "luxury seating" (suites, loge seats, bar style seating) on both sides of the stadium.

Some SBC fans are still here? But sure the SBC is much better that’s why they need to hang around here.

Only thing that has come out was our AD assured him we had access to Bank of America Stadium, Spectrum Center, and Truist Field.......if we needed them. We average two baseball games a year uptown and have played the occasional one game a year at Spectrum. I hope we never play in BoA except for a bowl game.

as long as UNCC keeps the birthday deal going on for any future App games in Charlotte i'm happy. whether its a 15k or 30k stadium.
