I pin this loss on the coaching. Egad, what a disappointing outcome. Dimel and his staff sucks. The defense is what is saving the Miners in most games because the offense can't decide whether they want it more than the other team. I'm Ps'ed.

Atleast they fought back and tied it... But Holy crap the coaching staff blew this game. Dimel better not receive an extension.

That was a crazy game UTEP. I have no idea if either team deserved to win, but I guess someone had to.

Just got back from the game, and I think this was probably the best game in our series since UNT entered C-USA back in 2013. What a finish. But I have to admit, UTEP got hosed on the kick catch interference call. Also a terrible no call that should have been pass interference during a key UTEP drive later in he game. UTEP brought a good crowd and it was a fun evening for the 20,000 that came out on this chilly afternoon. UTEP is still having a solid season, and I wish you the best in your bowl.

No the call on the kick catch was by the rules. You cannot hit the ball carrier until the ball hits the ground or is caught.

Otherwise, the returner would have no protection from early hits.

Congrats on the win. My thought on a bowl for UTEP is that if they finish 6-6 they may not go and probably shouldn't if there are enough bowl eligible teams. A team shouldn't go bowling if they finish the regular season with 5 straight losses.

I think you win at least one more. However if you don't, no way you should give up a bowl game.

FBS teams are restricted on the number of weeks they can organized practices, and the bowl games gives you an exemption until your bowl game. You have a lot of young players and any bit of extra practice time helps them a lot.
