Yep. I wish there was a way to have him replace Fornes in the lineup, but I know that's not really possible. It would have to be Baker that he replaces.

Why is Fornes irreplaceable? I’m not sure what he does well.

I'm not saying he is, I'm just saying it wouldn't be Fornes that White replaces. Fornes needs to be taken out of the starting lineup regardless. Just not sure who you put in instead at the moment. I liked what I saw out of Jamarii Thomas but he didn't play at all tonight I don't believe. Oglesby was better tonight than he had been previously but was not really any better than Fornes.

I hear you, makes sense. I’m with you on Thomas and Oglesby.

Glad to see the pressure in the 2nd half, and White is a lone bright spot. Hopefully something clicks for these guys soon. There are a lot of reasons to be discouraged right now. Philosophy and fundamentals both seem lacking.

I change my mind after looking at the stat sheet. Oglesby was better than I expected, I did like his effort and energy tonight while I was watching.

Phillips-Okauru-Oglesby-Sims-White. That would be my 5 for the next game. I know White is not a 5 but we have to get the best guys on the court wherever we can.

If White doesn’t start I’ll be convinced coach needs some serious help. He’s been really the only Consistent bright spot

My early impression of Oglesby is that he’s not a great athlete, so I’m not sure about his defense. But, His ability to make shots should earn him more minutes.

RE: @Pittsburgh - GAME 2
I predicted 65-57 in an ugly game, but it was worse. We shot 29% for the game and only scored 51. Luckily Pitt can't score either.

I don't count Guilford as a real game. So here is the reality of our offense in two real games.

IllSt.
Starters 31.8% 14-44

Sims 2-10
Okauru 0-5
Fornes 4-13
Baker 3-7
Phillips 5-9

Pitt 27.9% 12-43

Sims 1-7
Okauru 5-11
Fornes 2-8
Baker 1-8
Phillips 3-9

Thru two games

Sims 3-17 17.6%
Okauru 5-16 31.25%
Fornes 6-21 28.6%
Baker 4-15 26.6%
Phillips 8-18 44.4%

Even he was 3-10 from the field. That tells you how bad we were tonight.

We don't have a single starter that is a well rounded, legit scoring threat. Okauru is the closest we have, but he is not a three point threat. Sims shoots way too much based on his ability, and he is a liability when he drives, because he usually torns it over, doesn't have the ability to kick it out, and is usually looking for a bail out foul as his only alternative. I just don't like his offensive game. We WANT to be a three point shooting team but we just aren't.

Baker, Phillips, Okauru and White are guys who can finish in the paint, but none of them should be shooting threes. Sims should only shoot threes, and we have to hope Fornes and Oglesby find their shot. Hopefully we will be ok in the CAA since we won't face the size we have against Pitt and IllSt, and we'll be able to drive and finish and not rely on the three ball.

That new coach had one hell of a reputation coming in and landed an incredible group of transfers. Watching them play, they have a really good half court offense and play fast.

RE: @Pittsburgh - GAME 2
Sims ability is off the charts as he led the nation in scoring about this time last year. He is the focal point of every scouting report. The only person stopping Jaylen is Jaylen.

Whatever his ability off the charts may be… it’s currently 3-17 on the charts.

I’m a bit of a redneck myself, and arithmetic isn’t my top shelf subject. Them numbers don’t sound like something to write home to ma about though.

Considering last year “doesn’t count for the Siddle era” bein as we only played a few beans of games. Ima go ahead and say, somethin better get fixed and quick.

Hell, at this rate we might be hearing a lot “Na na na naaaaah hey hey hey, goodbyes” at our road games.

Anyone here still think the poll that picked us for last place or second to last was disrespectful?

RE: @Pittsburgh - GAME 2
Watched the game again and here is what happened when we cut the lead to 47-49 off a Fornes 3pt. with 9:43 left.

We were 1-11 from the floor and made 1 ft.

Phillips 0-1
Fornes 0-3
White 0-2
Oglesby 1-1
Sims 0-2
Okauru 0-2

We were 1-8 from three. Okauru, Phillips and Sims were the only ones who attempted a shot that wasn't a three. The real problem was Phillips on the bench. He came in with 8:08 left, got his fourth foul with 7:33 left in the game and never went back in. Our offense when Okauru is the PG is always stagnant and you can tell by the fact we shot pretty much all three pointers when Phillips went out. I'd rather see Thomas come in than Okauru at the point. I have no idea why Phillips never came back in, but it probably cost us the game. Four fouls or not, we need him on the court, especially to close out games.

It sounds like he was pulling guys that didn’t execute to his specifications if that’s the case.

Vacarro seemed to sound confused about why Shy wasn't in there under 5, down 5.
