Congrats!! You just made the stupidest post of the year.

Some of you need to chill

No one is pinning this on the players.
one of coach's job is to motivate players to play hard.

Damn Roachman... it has NOTHING to do with how hard you play if the plays you are calling suck. They DID play hard (except for 22 on Dfense). Our coaching staff sucks. The two are not mutually exclusive.

So I wasn't imagining that. Cool.

22 has been useless the entire 5 years he’s been here

Nah you get that award every week for doing nothing but bash other posters. As for Silverfield he will get another year. But if he goes 5-7 he will definitely be on the hot seat next season. They can’t let this go too far off the rails. And our running game is so bad right now.

Just said on the post game he would run that same play over again if given the chance. I just can’t defend the guy anymore

RE: ***Official Memphis vs ECU Game Thread*** (11/13)
I don't post very often here anymore because this place has become too volatile.

A couple of observations:

1. How can a major college program that's been functioning at a fairly high level not have enough confidence in their placekicker to kick an extra point?

2. We are going on about a 20 year run of having just absolutely horrific defenses. We had this game won, and for the umpteen jillionth time let some team drive the entire length of the field and score with the game on the line. This trend is way beyond old.

3. I like Silverfied as a person, but I'm not sure he's up to the task of being handed the reins of maybe not a Ferrari, but at least a souped up Mustang and losing control and hitting a tree on the side of the road.

The special teams coach should be fired. The defensive coordinator should be fired. The offensive coordinator should probably be fired. We need to at least try to recruit some kids for defense rather than continuing to place every good recruit on the offensive side of the ball.

If we're not really careful, we're on the brink of giving the last 8-10 years right back to Porter and Scherer.

That is his problem in a nutshell imo. He cannot and will not adjust his game plan to the flow of the game.

We are very close to bring a 2-8 team right now and his team has been unprepared in one form or another all season long.

Today was just the latest example of an inexperienced young driver in over this head. CRS was handed the keys to a Camaro and drives it like a go cart.

Time to trade him in and start over imo, but on some ways he has been a bit snakebit and is just good enough in recruiting to give him one more season before that decision will likely be made.

Can he turn it around? I dont know, I hope so, but I doubt it.

GTG!

You could say the future is bright b/c we’re playing with a freshman QB; however, he’s been awesome. He’ll definitely get better with experience, but I don’t know what the future holds for this program with RS at the helm.

I'll be blunt: anyone who still thinks RS should be our coach next year is an effing moron.

22 is always running away from the play, can't believe he has receives playing time. Having 22 is like having 10 players on defense, for the last four years.

I didn't agree with going for two there. Maybe in the next series in OT if you score first but not there. Especially when Kemp just tied the game. That had to be a confidence boost for him. Then gets yanked and a failed two point attempt.

We will be bowl eligible but it'll be at 6-6.

We are 2 and 5 in our last 7 games, after starting out 3 and zero, what a gut-check of a season

02-13-banana I always thought if you are playing on your home field that you would kick the easy extra point to tie the game and then actually have home field advantage during overtime. I know one of our guys missed an extra point early but we had also just kicked a successful field goal. I said at the time they lined up for the two point conversion that it was a stupid play call.

Well, it looks like the usual miserables have shown up after a loss.

I don’t hate going for it, but like others I didn’t like the call. Wish we hadn’t used that little shuffle pass to Dykes earlier, although it did get a TD for us. That’s a good play for a 2-point conversion.

I think Silverfield needs to assess his staff based on what we’ve seen this year. That’s the first step. Then if we don’t look any better it’s time for some harder decisions.

I appreciate what Coach got us through last year, which was weird on so many fronts. I think Coach can eventually be decent, but it may take longer than we can stand. Our window of opportunity is closing and we need to be the best we can be at football.

And people still defend this idiot of a head coach

UTSA is top 25 and ECU with just a couple of breaks could be 9-1.

Some of you have got to quit looking at the name on the front of the uniform.

Study the teams themselves.

This team went to Houston and lost in OT.

Their RB is #1 in the nation in yards per carry.

We held him to 2.5 yard per carry under his average.

Our Cotton Bowl team lost to Temple.

Do not be surprised if ECU damages Cincinnati's hopes to make the playoffs with either a close loss or out and out win.

He’s here for another year for better or worse. What will really be a head scratcher is if he doesn’t make staff changes in the off-season. That will be a huge red-flag

Need a new special teams coach for sure. We are bad in every phase of special teams now. Except punt returns since our opponents hardly punt.
