I saw where Boogie dropped 20 in his first game at USC. He looked smooth and happy.

Cisse also had a good game

17 pts, 9 rebounds and 2 blocks...

It was against a scrub team...

But he did that in 18 minutes.

3-6 from the line so he's improved. 03-lmfao

So true.

Interesting too in that TCU was playing McNeese State.

McNeese's leading scorer was TJ Moss.

Rand at Oregon State hasn't played much.
Lance Thomas transferred to South Alabama but didn't play in their opening game.

I wish Boogie was starting at PG for us this year

No kidding.

I mean for his career he's played 60 games and has 90 assists and 84 turnovers.

Pretty much what you want out of your 1.

I think he'll be great at USC, but the fact is he was never, nor will ever, be a PG. He's a 6'0 SG.

And funny thing, USC, which is 1 spot behind Memphis in KenPOM has a 6'1 PG (Ethan Anderson) who has a career average of 5.5 ppg (and only scored 5 in the opening game) and is literally expected to run the offense and just let Ellis and Mobley take shots.

Still a better option than Lomax or anyone else on our roster.

Yes, we really need a PG that averages 1 assist per game.

Yep.

Yeah, but he has a career 38% from the field (not from 3). From the field.

A 1 assist per game, 38% shooter from the field who was 2nd on the team in FGA per 40 is JUST what Memphis needs at the PG spot.

But at least he only had the 2nd worst defensive rating on the team last year. So there's that.

Correct...He is not a traditional PG.

But he did a good job bringing the ball up the floor against pressure...You have Williams and hopefully Emoni to start the offense.

But when Lomax is out and teams pressure us...That may be a concern.

lol
I was going to do one of these for basketball today, but I see you guys took care of that.
Only thing I'll add is that in our first buy game last year, Cisse had 14 and 10 in 19 minutes. He also went 2-3 at the FT line.
Call me when he does it consistently in meaningful games.

Half as many fouls as Dandridge in 6 times the minutes.

No doubt, some of this net loss was due to the extra COVID year and scholly management by Memphis.
According to the site, 12 of our transfers out never found a home.

Looking for stats on the remaining 13 transfers out show a lot of the guys just aren't playing on their new teams, for whatever reason.
Only found stats on 5 guys:
Tahj Washington, USC is playing. Getting good usage, but fewer yards and many fewer td's than he had here last year.
TJ Carter, TCU is playing and has 1 int. Stats look comparable to what he did here as a frosh (and that he never duplicated as a soph-jr).
Jojo Dorceus, Tulane has stats comparable every year here.
Tyce Daniel, So Illinois is having his best year ever. Much more utilization.
Everitt Cunningham, So Miss is playing some but not duplicating what he did here as a frosh.
I am confident Obinna Eze, TCU is also playing but no real stats on OL.

Meanwhile, for our transfers in, we have 6 on the 2-deep and 1 known injury.
Jakari Robinson, Cincy is playing.
Joe Doyle, UTK. We know the spot he's been in all year.
Devontae Dobbs, Mich St - playing.
Gunnell, Arizona - hurt.
Julian Barnett, Mich St - playing.
Parrish, LSU - backup QB
For some reason Eddie Lewis, Rutgers is not listed.

All in all about a wash?
***
Eze and Carter are both starting for TCU. Jojo is starting at Tulane and having a big year. Haven't seen Tahj but can believe he is having a good year. I never understood why Jojo Dorseus transferred to Tulane, nor why Eze would have looked elsewhere to play. Could see Carter and Washington MIGHT benefit from a new team but not Dorseus or Eze.

As for transfers into the Tiger program Doyle (UT) and Austin Myers (TCU) were the only two starters; Myers got hurt and is out for the season. Barnett (MSU) started the first game but has not played much since. Eddie Lewis (Rutgers) has been a contributor.

Looks like our home-grown O-linemen got the nod over "Power 5" transfers.

Dobbs, Robinson, and Myers are all OL playing / have played.

The thing about the guys transferring out - other than Daniels who was buried on the depth chart here and went down in competition - I don't see any of them who have benefited from a new team. I will repeat...
Tahj is doing about the same as here, but with way fewer TDs.
TJ is doing what he did here as a frosh.
Jojo is doing what he always does.
Eze is getting starts just like here.

The flip side, we've got about 5 guys contributing.

A wash.

And from what I can tell from that group is all of them are playing for teams where their coaches got fired in-season because their teams sucked.

EDIT: Tulane's coach hasn't been fired.

They are just 1-8.

On paper, we had the best O Line in the AAC (with the transfers). Some did not pan out like I thought.
Our O Line has regressed since Silverfield was promoted. I'd say at the least...our current O Line coach needs to be let go.

If the issue is coaching that is not acceptable.

247 transfer portal Memphis

It shows we had 25 transfers out, 12 transfers in
No doubt, some of this net loss was due to the extra COVID year and scholly management by Memphis.

Looks like our home-grown O-linemen got the nod over "Power 5" transfers.

yeah that threw me.
On paper, we had the best O Line in the AAC (with the transfers). Some did not pan out like I thought.
Our O Line has regressed since Silverfield was promoted. I'd say at the least...our current O Line coach needs to be let go.

Whatever...This is Silverfields specialty...

If the issue is coaching that is not acceptable.

4 new starters on the OL ... There was going to be some regression .... Good news is that 2 of the current starters are Freshman, so time for room and growth ... Like Parham has ...

Yep...That is cool...

But the previous poster was talking about the exisitng OLine coach...Yeah...If that is the reason...Then that is bad.

When we drop 50 percent on the Trey Ball against decent competition, Ike will agree we have the TREY BALL
we must Bust the Trey consistently to make the final four
