Tired cliches mostly.

Then to top off everything, Rick Stockstill speaks last. OMG.

Just dispirit the hell out of fans.

It sounded to me like he has no intention of going anywhere.

I doubt he leaves anytime soon. Is what it is.

The only signal to fans that could have been worse is a similar style speech from McDevitt to cap things off.

Saw something on Twitter saying that Stockstill has donated $500k to the fundraising effort.

That is a lot of money. I would really like to know if this is true.

I have no doubt.

What it means, I strongly suspect, is CRS will leave on his own terms and timing. On the off chance MT was going to buy him out at some point, the half million is a investment from him to allow him to finish out his contract as he wants. Compare it to the diversion of his pay previously that allowed the extension of his contract that got us to this point.

I won't be surprised if this is actually part of a renegotiated extension or terms of his contract. If it is, I suspect it will take an FOIA to make it public knowledge.

RE: MTSU facility update
OK. Many times Coach Stock has disappointed & pissed me (and much of the MT fan base) off. But I've gotta admit when he and Sara Stock gave a 1/2 million to MT's building fund (in the name of all current and former FB players) yesterday; that was a Classy Move!!! Now, if he can Win out this year (and end up 7-5), and win a Bowl Game this year (we'd be 8-5); McPhee and Massaro would probably give him back the $500,000 either as a bonus or raise and extend his contract thru 2030. Yikes!!!!! Really did not see this coming.

The 500k donation was a pleasant surprise. Still would like to move on from Rick but I think he will be here another 3 years or so. At least the players love him and he seems to care about the program. I just don’t think he is the guy.

RE: MTSU facility update
I wouldn't mind Stockstill staying if that meant getting rid of McPhee. Would prefer if both retired. We will never "fire" anyone at MT.

Mehears that Stock had begged and pleaded in the past to get a fundraising drive going (for years), and it fell on deaf ears.

Heard McPhee refuses to do anything about the violence surrounding campus. Said it is not his problem, as the crimes are not being committed on-campus. Our mayor has tried to meet with him about this (again, deaf ears).

And here we are almost 18 years later still stuck with McSeven Wood :

The Sidney McPhee Problem

Good for MTSU for promoting their master plan. Charlotte’s master plan has been more secretive than the Manhattan Project.

I’m curious if any other universities have on campus hotels? They added that to the project.

Hyatt Place is as close to campus as you can get without being on campus.

For sure they do, Cornell for sure has one, they do have the best hotel/hospitality management school in the world, but I would certainly think there are others.

Wonder if that on-campus hotel is where visiting sports teams will stay?

The Marriott family has ties to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and are enormous boosters to BYU.
