I assume that being left behind during this round of realignment was the reason? From the outside it looked like FIU wasn't even joining the conversation. Best of luck figuring this out.

Great guy, he reenergized the fanbase when hired and gave us a nice bowl run. But I believe he was out of coaching too long and that has caught up with him over the last few years.

I don’t think he destroyed it. We were already broken. He had a few years but it’s been time for him to move on for a while now. The new AD will bring in a different coach (Butch contract expiring).

Butch got you guys the win against the U. That was a big deal especially in the Miami market. All the stations were talking about FIU after that. I really thought ya'll would be able to capitalize on that and get some momentum, but it just didn't happen. Not gonna lie, its going to be very strange not being with FIU in a conference. We have been for a long time. I know FAU said they would like to keep scheduling each other and I hope that happens.

What is the average time for an Athletic Director to be at a college? I could see a long time at Alabama, but for schools in CUSA either you are moving the program forward or you need to move on. Charlotte kept their last AD about 20 - 25 years too long. These folks while well intentioned may become stagnant and set programs back for decades.
