Hire a coach versed in the veer or wishbone offense, recruit bulky but slow offensive lineman and multiple fleet QB's like Grissom and Jackson. That option offense would be unlikely to win a championship or be fun to watch but it would probably yield a .500 record or so year in and year out. Kinda like Rob Murphy. I'll take Creighton's approach.

So like, hire Genyk, but make him run?

Big thanks to all these seniors who went through and helped us their five or six years here to reawaken the program and enjoy the facility improvements and work through covid. You helped build a solid foundation for others to build on.

RE: Game Week: WMU (Senior Day)
Quote:We aren’t beating CMU in Mount Pleasant. We’d best take care of business on Tuesday.

Any team in the West can beat any team in the West.

Quote:I agree I don't think OUR 6-6 gets us in. We need to beat WMU and/or CMU or both.

You may not need to.

There's 41 bowl games. Which means you (or anyone else in the MAC) would need to be ranked 83rd, as far as records or tied-for-last at 6-6 is concerned.

MAC BOWLS - 2021 (6 + 3 potentials):
- Bahamas Bowl
- Lending Tree Bowl
- Idaho Potato Bowl
- Cameillia Bowl
- Detroit Bowl
- Arizona Bowl
* Myrtle Beach Bowl (AAC/MAC/Sun Belt)
* Frisco Bowl (Any G5 vs Any G5)
* Cure Bowl (Any G5 vs Any G5 or Army)

But we'll all at 6-6 make Any bowl if the # of teams run out at .500 or above (up to 82).

Projected # who'll make it to a bowl, outside the MAC:

AAC (6 teams):
- Cinci, Houston, SMU, ECU, UCF
- Memphis (5-5; @Houston L, Tulane W)
X Tulsa (4-6; Temple W, @SMU L)

ACC (10-11 teams):
- Wake, Clemson, NC State, Boston College, Pitt, Virginia
- Louisville (5-5; @Duke W, Kentucky L)
- North Carolina (5-5; Wofford W, @NC-State W/L)
- Miami (5-5; VaTech W/L, @Duke W)
- VaTech (5-5; @Miami W/L, @Virginia W/L)
~ Florida State (4-6; @BC W, @Florida W/L)
X Syracuse (4-6; @NCSt L, Pitt L)

B12 (6-7 teams):
- Oklahoma, OK-State, Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas State, Texas Tech
~ West Virginia (4-6; Texas W/L, @Kansas W)
X TCU (4-6; Kansas W, @Iowa State L)
X Texas (4-6; @West Virginia W/L, Kansas State L)

B1G (9 teams):
- Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin, Iowa, Minnesota, Purdon't
~ Maryland (5-5; Michigan L, @Rutgers W/L)
~ Rutgers (5-5; @PSU L, Maryland W/L)
X Illinois (4-6; @Iowa L, Northwestern W)

CUSA (7-8 teams):
- UTSA, UAB, UTEP, Western Kentucky, Marshall
- Charlotte (5-5; Marshall W/L, @Old-Dom W/L)
~ Florida Atlantic (5-5; @WKU L, MTSU W/L)
~ MTSU (4-6; Old-Dom W/L, @Florida Atlantic W/L)
~ Old Dom (4-6; @MTSU W/L, Charlotte W/L)
X North Texas (4-6; @FIU W, UTSA L)

INDEPENDENT (4 teams):
- Notre Dame, BYU, Liberty, Army

MOUNTAIN WEST (6-7 teams):
- Utah, Air Force, Boise, San Diego St, Fresno St, Nevada
~ Wyoming (5-5; @Utah State L, Hawaii W/L)
X San Jose State (5-6; Fresno St L)

PAC12 (7-8 teams):
- Oregon, Oregon St, Utah, Arizona, UCLA
- Washington St (5-5; Arizona W, @Washington W/L)
~ USC (4-5; UCLA W/L, BYU W/L, @California W/L)
~ Washington (4-6; @Colorado W/L, Washington St W/L)
X California (3-6; @Stanford W/L, @UCLA W/L, USC W/L)

SEC (10-12 teams):
- Georgia, Kentucky, Alabama, Ole Miss, Miss-St, Texas A&M, Auburn, Arkansas
- Tennessee (5-5; South Alabama W, Vanderbilt W)
~ Missouri (5-5; Florida W/L, @Arkansas L)
~ South Carolina (5-5; Auburn W/L, Clemson W/L)
~ Florida (5-5; @Missouri W/L, Florida St W/L)
X LSU (4-6; UL Monroe W, Texas A&M L)

SUN BELT (4-5 teams):
- App State, Coastal Carolina, Louisiana
- GA State (5-5; Arkansas W, Troy W/L)
~ Troy (5-5; App State L, @GA-St W/L)
X South Alabama (5-5; @Tennessee L, Coastal Carolina L)
X UL Monroe (4-6; LSU L, @Louisiana L)

... SO FAR: 69 - 77 teams [82 TOTAL SPOTS]

MAC (8 teams):
- NIU, CMU, WMU, EMU
- Miami (5-5; BGSU W, @Kent-St W/L)
- Kent-St (5-5; @Akron W/L, Miami W/L)
- Toledo (5-5; @Ohio W/L, Akron W/L)
- Ball State (5-5; CMU W/L, Buffalo W/L)
X Buffalo (4-6; NIU W/L, @BSU W/L)

----

So there's 82 slots. 69-77 teams will get in from other conferences. Which means 77 - 85 teams at 6-6 or better.

So at worst, we'll overflow bowl slots by 3 teams. But, we have up to 9 bowl tie-ins, definitely 6.

So at worst, 2 6-6 MAC teams will be left out, assuming Buffalo doesn't pull a rabbit out of it's hat, along with nobody else collapsing. Most likely 1 at the worst, if we hit the overflow.

I think we'll all be fine at 6-6. At worst, IMO, one MAC team will be left out at 6-6, but I wouldn't even be worried much about that.

And on another note, collegefootballnews.com throws out there that there may not be enough 6+ win teams this year.

Nice post thanks for sharing!

While we passed up a big paycheck only scheduling one P5 team, that may get us to a bowl again. Interesting...

Great stand by the defense! That TFL by Bogan was huge.
