When the 4 new schools enter the league, how many conference games will there be for basketball? 18? Will the league split to a east and west division? I hope so (and I don’t just say that as a odu fan). I would like to see all the east side teams at odu every year even if that means we don’t play all the west teams every year.

Final question: does the sunbelt have any conference challenges agree to on the non-conference schedule side?

The schedule is to be determined. It will not be division only and will depend on whether or not we are scheduling 14 or 16 (Little Rock and UTA).

We are not part of a conference challenge.

SBC basketball schedules are decided on by the coaches before each season. Once we know when the newbies are coming in, the coaches for each team will meet in the offseason and decide on how scheduling will work.

I don't anticipate division play only, but its not impossible. Schools are really trying to save money.

The league has authority over the rest. Coaches are free to suggest.

It'll be interesting to see how they vote on that. It's also going to be interesting what happens with Little Rock and UTA. Haven't really seen any rumor of them leaving or anything recently.
