Any freshman with a job off-campus could get a permit for a few of the most remote lots (at least I did when I was a freshman).

I had a pass when I was a freshman but I think it was because of my ADD. Don’t ask me what that had to do with it but I had all kinds of rockin’ privileges, like early class signup that allowed me to get into bowling as my kineseology requirement.

When I was a freshman, you could have a car on campus 2nd semester freshman year. I remember a kid from my dorm found a spot near the old baseball stadium. His windshield got crushed by a foul ball the next day.

Not getting the opportunity to be in bowling is one of my biggest regrets at JMU. Outside of that, wouldn't change a thing.

It was awesome. And I can’t imagine having another kinesiology course that I would have put to use as much after college.

ODU was destroyed by Indiana State, 42 points

That team has some good players, what is going on there?

Don't get me wrong, I am anything but an ODU fan, but anything that hurts VT and UVA is good with me and a good Virginia teams hurts both

I took golf and that was great in the spring semester. Got to go to the driving range to hit buckets of balls for homework.

That does sound fun and it probably would have been pretty useful for business too as I’m Really crap at golf.

“Senior” year, already well past degree requirements, just needed the credit hours, I took my 3rd year of skiing, kiddie Lit, then tennis and bowling in the fall.
Seriously helped the overall GPA. Ha.

Had to get a credit hour override to take 40 credits in one year to finally graduate…

Future opponent Penn beats past opponent ODU 71-63. Should be a decent game at the Palestra.

I took skiing - I think twice somehow. T/Th at Massanothing during the short ski season. Fun skiing and we had to learn the difficult 'Apres Ski' concept after the slopes closed. At least it got us off the couch and outside several hours each week!

ODU lost all three games in that Myrtle tournament (Indiana St, ECU and Penn). Was hoping they were a better team than that. Must have been the lingering effects of losing to us. Wonder if Razor has pulled his financial support?

The real question : Has Dukeman pulled his money?

No Head Coach, it was ugly. Hopefully JJ is back on the bench soon, cause the assistance was the worst, sat the whole game.

RE: Other games - men’s Hoops
Towson wilted in the second half and lost to Ohio State by 11. Still, their offense looked better than almost any Skerry team I’ve seen. Instead of throwing it up and having their bigs play volleyball on the offensive glass, they actually were running offense with great ball reversal, off the ball screens, and lots of motion. I don’t know if he got new assistants this year, but his team is playing different.
As it stands, JMU has the only win over a P7 team so far. There are a few more chances for the league coming up in December.

It was strange to watch Luke Loewe and Tyson Walker play against each other, but in Big 10 uniforms. Walker and Michigan St knocked off Loewe and undefeated Minnesota on the road. They were 2 of the 5 guys from the all-CAA teams who transferred out of the conference this Spring. Northeastern is still trying to find its way without Walker and they really don’t have a PG. W&M went from bad to worse without Loewe and they have nobody of note on the roster.

I caught some of it...even when they were struggling early in the second half it felt more like they were more unlucky than completely outmatched.

Their record is 6-4 but their schedule has been tough and their only bad loss is at Pitt (and they only lost by four). I suspect they'll win the CAA regular season but who knows what will happen in the conference tourny!

For anyone going to that game, if you haven’t been to the Palestra before it’s worth getting there early. The concourse has been turned into a museum of Philly basketball going back to the 1930’s etc. really cool stuff.

Got a crew of 6 going and taking my godson to his first JMU/college hoops game.
