RE: Western Kentucky at Rice
WKU runs (!!) on 3rd & 25 in Rice territory (after a offensive pass interference on a pick route). Rice D stuffs it and the 'Toppers punt. It rolls OB at the 6.

But illegal formation (more than 4 back of the line of scrimmage) nullifies the play. Re-kick. Fair catch at the 11. FUMBLE!!!

Fresch recovers at the 12. 26 seconds left in 1H.

Montgomery runs up the middle to the 31!!

Owls saving its timeouts, apparently.

INC pass downfield. No-gain run ends the half. Ahhh, the end-of-the-half drama ... amounting to nothing ... on the drive and scoreboard.

0-28 at the half.

No. Final play was a run. Also, making WKU punt again was boneheaded, especially since he didn’t even call for an all-out effort to block it.

What the...
Details?
That would be quite the morale downer
Right before we threw the interception at the 2 we had ten or more players trying to hold back a coach at the other 40. He was after someone with purpose.

A run because Bailey didn't make the catch on the previous play. Had he made that catch I think we'd throw again

I did not go either because I did not feel up to it. I had foot surgery the week before and a follow up appointment in Galveston yesterday. Although it is a pretty day for football I did not want to see the team beat by bad coaching again so I did not want to drive to Houston for it. Enjoyed seeing OU got beat by Baylor on the television.

So glad I didn't go. Hate to say it, but until Rice puts a reasonable product on the field, they have lost me.

Props? For finally waking up and trying to use some form of offense besides "pound the rock, burn the clock"? Way too late to give him props.

So brutal. I brought two of my kids and could barely stomach walking from the R Room to our seats. And 35 people in the MOB today. Reggie DesRoches, please save us from this foolishness before our AAC inaugural.

Ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Don’t hold your breath.

Seriously, if he hasn’t been fired to this point in the season, what makes anyone think JK will pull the trigger now? Hey, he still has a shot at a bowl game.

Yea, right.

Announced 600 cheerleaders for the halftime. Let's say families and all of them was 2k. I suspect that may account for 40% of the attendance.

Constantine misses open receiver on 3rd & 5 out pattern. GRRR!!

Why is Broussard not in at RB. (Montgomery ran the first two plays of 2H.)

So Owls are down 4 scores to start the 2H. Bloomgren’s offensive approach? Go back to pound the rock. It’s worked so well for 4 years.

Unless they came back, this loss puts them at 3-7. Bowl dreams end. Fire him.

WKU's second play is a pass left. WR sidesteps DB ... runs downfield ... and FUMBLES as he's tackled. The ball bounces into the hands of an Owl! WooHOO!!

(Broussard is RB on this series.)

Don’t disagree, but if it hasn’t happened to this point, it won’t happen today.

And I think it was more like bowl fantasies.

RE: Western Kentucky at Rice
1st & 10 -- Griffin run for 2. "Western Kentucky is swarming to the football!"

"Griffing to the outside." Tackled quickly.

3rd & 7 ... Constantine back to pass ... BLITZ! ... C scrambles ahead, arms back to pass, thinks better of it and brings it down and tries to run ... but it's too late.

Punting on 4th & 9. Delay of game. (Because we have such a great punter he needs more room to nai one inside the 10?) Nope! "Not a lot of hangtime on this." Fair catch at the WKU 26.

Facemask penalty on Rice. GRRR!!

"Even less room for Western Kentucky to add to their point total."

1st & 10 at the WKU 41.
